Look, I understand that there is a recession going on, and CCP may not have many funds to throw around. but can we PLEASE either hire a part-time forum mod or get a volunteer group going to cover the weekends?
OOPE (in particular) becomes "Anti-American Bigotry and Tinfoil-Hat Lunacy Central" EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND! I don't know about you guys, but I am sick and tired of dealing with the hate-fests!
This kind of crap NEEDS TO STOP. Some of us would rather have enjoyable and funny conversations about "What kind of car should I get next?" and "Should I buy my girlfriend flowers or chocolates?" As opposed to "Wow, you Americans are STUPID!" or "Americans are sheep! 9/11 was an Inside job!" or "So, how does it feel to murder millions of people you EVIL Americans?"
What's next? Complaining about the "Global Jew Finance" conspiriacy? It's absolutely absurd, and we need a mod to watch the forum and start bringing down the ban-stick on the lunatics.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. CCP; GET US A MOD TO STOP THE HATE THREADS!

Seriously though, the hate, rage, and lunacy that collects in OOPE over the weekend is mind-boggling. GD can get a little crazy too.
We need a weekend Mod.

Weekends has the lowest coverage of mods and the highest coverage of drunken posting and weekend trolls. So, yeah, I, too, see an issue there.

As far as being too sensitive, would you have the same response if all the hate was directed towards a particular ethnic group that I happened to be part of? I doubt it.
Bigotry is bigotry and should be stamped out wherever it rears it's ugly head.

You raise a fair point there, and rereading the particular thread, I definitely agree with you now. Maybe it's less so on my point because my particular racial background is a broken country with pretty much zero hope of ever attaining peace, maybe it's given me a bit of a blunt view on the whole subject. Ah well.

EVE has forum mods?
I thought all the moderation was handled by random Devs whenever they happened to look at the forums. I've never seen any indication that CCP provides any regular full-time moderation except during patches, unscheduled downtimes, or threadnoughts.

Heh. Yeah, car conversations invariably get dragged into "American cars suck!" or "Don't buy a rice-burner!" or "I refuse to buy a Nazi-mobile!" rant fests.
However, I think this just bolsters my point. During the week those conversations get the politics and hyper national bigotry stamped out of them rather quickly. But if a post like that is posted on a Friday after business hours Reykjavik time, then it sits there until midday on Monday.
We need mods on the weekends.

As much as I would like to support this I get increasingly disturbed at the way you "constantly" use derogatory words associated with mental illness, like above how you describe anyone that disagrees with you as being "nuts", I have done voluntary work for mental health charity's in the past and have also seen someone I know suffer from a nervous breakdown, so even if you are ignorant to this, your words are as offensive as anyone that hits on people for being a certain nationality, you constantly call people "biggots" when as I have explained above, you fit into that category as much as the people you criticise.
