Not a clue on mission setups sorry mate, I used the Myrm, but for PVP my fave little bird is:

Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive Stasis Webifier II Warp Scrambler II F-90 Positional Sensor Subroutines, Scan Resolution

Swap out SeBo for a ECCM if you'd rather that for the Falcons, but I prefer the SeBo myself, it only lasts about 8 minutes though capwise, but you can swap the Ions for Neutrons with one Small Nos in the highs for a little bit of extra time.

In general, you don't want to mission in a Brutix.

this
if you want to do mission get a Myrmidon, the Brutix is a good pvp ship but for missions they tend to burn rather quickly

For PvP, the 5 medium ECM drones are absolutely golden.
Nothing quite beats making that AF lose lock, lose that speed advantage and then watching him explode in a matter of moments *** Currently Playing: Trolls from Outer Space Current Equipment: VISAcard chain mail, +2 Amulet of Epic Whine, Self Banstick +2 WTB: +666 E-peen killboard stats |

A myrm is a far superior mission runner because it can field better tank set ups and deal damage are range. Drones are win anyways if you are Gallente. I love Myrm's in PVP but I'll be switching to a ECM drone Brutix soon. It's lethal, quick, and fun.

In a Gang a shield tanked Brutix is more effective, more DPS and more Buffer, more Range, more speed(no plates/Armor Rigs). Even down to solo it works out better this way in many situations.
For the OP, the Reason why most people say Myrmidon is because it is easier to fit and tank, also easier to do damage with some Drones than with Rails(that take a huge amount of Gunnerys to make it worth it) what will matter if you dooing L3. If you can fit and tank a Brutix for L3 Missions you will be allready able to do L4 in a BS most of the time.
Myrmidon Fitting:
6x 200mm Rails 4x Cap Recharger, AB/Web 2 Med Repper, 3 Resistance Modules, MFS/CPR depending on your Tanking/engineering Skills

You can use a Brutix for missions, it's just that the Myrmidon does it better.
Mission Brutix:
HI: 200mm rails (as many as you can fit), medium nosferatu
MED: AB, cap rechargers/cap booster, maybe a webber for any pesky frigs/intys
LOW: 800mm plate, medium repper, DC, explosive hardener/active resist, adaptive nano membrane

Ive only bein playin for jus over a month now. im a pure noob!

The bonused Drones scramble around the mission doing it for you, if I remember correctly you can get nice solid tank on a Myrm (like a lower grade Dominix) which is cap stable, so you can just sit there and smile whilst the drones **** the mission sideways.
[Myrmidon, Level III] Damage Control II Medium Armor Repairer II Medium Armor Repairer II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
Heavy Electron Blaster I, Antimatter Charge M Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I Salvager I Salvager I Drone Link Augmentor I
[empty rig slot] [empty rig slot] [empty rig slot]
Hammerhead II x5 Hammerhead II x5 Hobgoblin II x10
What I came up with very quickly, should be able to tank the mission easily, can run all the low slots cap stable and lasts five minutes with the highs running (if you fancy salvaging on a mission, rather than swapping out to a salvage-based ship). Also should be able to decimate Level 3s. Blaster is used to grab aggro, can be switched out for a railgun if you prefer the graphics difference.

Like others have said, for PvE use a Myrm.
For PvP I prefer to use ECM drones on the Brutix, they're great in every situation and can even save you if you land too far away from your target.
Problem with ECM drones is that you'll then be dependant on your guns' tracking to damage smaller ships, that's why I recommend using electrons as they not only are easier to fit, drain less cap but have considerably better tracking aswell. With electrons you only really need one web versus most targets if you have good skills, using two isn't half bad though and it's either that, a sensor booster or a capacitor booster IMO. Personally I prefer the cap booster.
As for the tank, an active tank can be quite good actually, in 1on1 encounters a 1600mm plate is nearly always better though but that can be tricky to fit if you want a capacitor booster.
The plate fit is probably more effective overall, however I feel that it isn't half as much fun to fly.

Im currently using the aforementioned brutix set-up for level 3's and im breezing through the missions. Brutix handle the missions just as well as Myrms and are cheaper...enough said.

Yeah I've done L3 missions in my brutix without even going tank fit at all, no problem. My current fit is better, with blasters, so I'll try some T3 again with it. Only reason I would switch to Myrm is for a completely different setup for PvP. I understand the bonuses to drones that the Myrm gets, and in the end I may switch to a Myrm anyway. But there really isn't anything wrong with a Brutix.

Bcos it is faster in missions than Brutix. Enoyment has nothing to do with missionrunning efficency. One can do missions also in AF and it can be even somewhat challenging and fun. Does not mean that it's good ship to do them.
