Yes everybody is sitting on a big pile of Zyd, self included, but there ain't all that much for sale in the empire.
Demand for battleships at a high as the original poster suggested...

Their is no low supply some people simply aren't selling it Period. What's happening is zydrine is easier to get in large numbers, so since more zydrine is required to build things than megacyte. People are with holding the zydrine to artificially inflate the prices. Now before you come with the war and etc stuff, that isn't straining the demand. Especially when you see people put up and offer zydrine in 200k, 400k and even 600k amounts. This simply means they are stockpiling zydrine and selling off the mega for cash. The market isn't bare, people are simply trying to raise the price on zydrine.

The reason zyd costs so much is because 1.Its kinda hard to mine with 10 enemy BS in the system (as already stated regarding current allience wars) and 2. with zyd prices at 4.2k its still much more profitable to cut arknor, the risk is the same, and its usally only a few jumps further to refine the ore.
A simple way to resolve the zyd issue would be 4 the devs to reduce the crok refine size to 200, as it stands 4 ur 1000 units of ore u get 5 refs outa ark n only 4 from the same amount of crok. U would then make more (in the shourt term) cuttin crok, more would cut that instead, supply increases and prices drop. How this would leval off after that i dont know

I would love to see more convoy's, they face a challenge and they deliver rares to the market. A good alternative to boring mining.

Meh, fix it by putting Gneiss back into empire space (0.2 and lower). Zyd would drop to something more in line with the NPC*x of other mins (eg, trit is at NPCx2, zyd is at npc x4.5 atm).

people i saw a noob of 2 weeks from my corp go mine in 0.0 last night. Ok his ship was rubbish but he came back with some zy. If he can do it why not you? Main reason it costs so much is people are so lazy they can't be bothered mining it! The people who do get rich quick

3.Those high end minerals that get mined , corps leave for themselves to produce and replace ships.
Also of notice is the fact that many corps are stockpiling minerals for Shiva , including high ends.
Arguing with EVE customer support is like chatting up stewardess on the plane - you know you're not gonna get any , but it's still hella fun trying |
