There are many different kinds of perishables and consumables in EVE.
Milk, beef, seeds...so on.
Why cant these be consumed by your character? Create a health monitor, and when your character gets low...consume some organic stuff.
It would create a demand in the market for this stuff.
Also, after battle you dock with your ship all beat to hell and you have it repaired. But the pilot is always in great shape. Well, have the pilot sustain some damage too. Med facilities shouldn't be just for cloning.
Feedback?

I know this is the kind of thing you see in a FPS game, but for EVE let's say that if your health reaches a critical level, your implants will cease to give you the added benefits they are supposed to. Or certain piloting attributes become diminished. You cant stop someone from flying...not in EVE anyway.

While i realize ambulation is this highly anticipated idea, you need to understand that according to all of the eve backstory, Capsuleers "rarely" leave their capsules, tbh its likely you're fed in-vitro in the capsule for the most part. Capsuleers feel extremely vulnerable outside their pod because it makes them "mortal" were they to die away from the cloning mechanism held within the pod. So i don't really agree with the food thing.. and i'm not all that supportive of the coming ambulation as a whole..

Personally I would have preferred CCP focused their energy on planet/moon based stations. Planetary upper atmosphere PvP or NPC. And of course, just fixing their bugs and making the whole EVE interface experience for the end user a little more fluid. Im not sure what ambulation will accomplish aside from a virtual reality chat room.

A more immense feeling, and a tested engine as the first step to planetary colonization and more. And lots and lots of fun.

This is Eve, not Tamagochi.
Also, ambulation will just make life more interesting for those being station-camped.

When I am in my pod, I get a perfectly balanced nutrient input through the pod fluids. When I am outside my pod, I am served all kinds of Ammar delicacies that ISK can buy.
The only people on my ships that would need food would be the crews and those get paid enough to feed themselves, their family and their future two generations with just a handful ISK, taken from the taxes when you purchase the ship.
We are demigods. We are the elite of the elite. We are no longer chained to those simple mortal needs like food and water. -------- Ideas for: Mining

No, it would not.
Apart from all other sane points against it, have you ever bothered to check the quantities you are talking about? I mean, did you consider how long an adult human could sustain himself on even a single unit of any foodstuff consumable? I won't even go into detail on what a complete ridicule it would be for one pod pilot to start chewing on a live cow.

I totally agree, and I checked some market prices on this mater. It would take about 125 ISk to feed and water basic ship crew/station dwellers for a year.
(a funny side note, you could actually save money by letting your crew drink Quafe... apparently its cheaper then water)

Hate to burst your (Quafe)bubble.
50l of Quafe 4.50 ISK 50l of Water 6.40 ISK
Lowest current prices in Sinq Laison. That does not factor in packaging material, which is likely to be in favour of water, too.
