PvP is all about ganking, to be honest, so it's a bit silly to complain that corporation A can bring more willing pilots to the front than your own can.
Having said that, 9 BS and a couple of cruisers is hardly corp. destroying figures; EV have been through MUCH worse.
You haven't hit their mining too hard either, Seleene, simply because it's so so easy to use alts to haul minerals from the various cheap and smart buy orders but up around the regions.
Video was very nice but please don't fall into the trap of thinking such a short campaign acheived anything much in terms of destroying EV; Eve simply doesn't let you utterly destroy a corporation.
Which is a bad thing
That's part of the reason why I'm considering my subscription renewal - what's the point of PVP if losses are so easily recovered, avoiding PVP is so easy, and alts can continue the work of existing members with barely a hiccup to functionality.

A couple quick notes:
1.) Another giant THANK YOU to everyone who has made positive comments on the movies. It is very inspiring to see how many people appreciate something you have done and I only hope I can keep up the same level of quality with whatever comes next.
2.) With regard to the back and forth of the last few posts with some of the EV members: with respect, stop. The war is over. Claiming that something did or did not happen after the fact is pointless. I do not set out to mislead people and every time anyone has asked me a question I've answered it as directly as possible. I'm not given to half-supported statements or nebulous references of events I think might have taken place. In short, before starting a flame war here, and as I said in my original post, if you have an issue with something in the video or a statement made by me on these forums I would be more than happy to discuss it in game. I'm also available on MSN most nights.
3.) I don't make these vids specifically as an advertisement. I make them because they are fun. I make them so that in ten years I can look back and remember I was part of something very cool. My next project though will be an advertisement video.
Thanks again to the community for your continued support. -

Josh, I don't disagree with a single point you have made here. The alt issue is a very frustrating one to say the least and proper prior planning can negate almost any amount of hardship. It is amazing, however, how many corps don't even think about such things and can be crippled by such a short campaign.
The problem is a double-edged sword though. If CCP made it possible to completely obliterate an enemy corp, you'd have people cancelling their subscriptions left and right. One hundred percent, three month insurance is a real *****, no two ways about it.
Had EV, or any corp like them, suffered the loss ratios we inflicted and not been able collect that insurance money, it's not unlikely that we could have had a much larger long term effect that the game currently allows us to achieve. PvP in EVE right now is all about shattering morale and, for lack of a better term, a matter of perception.
Obviously had the goal been a true crippling of EV, the process would have been much more involved and devious. There were several things going in with regard to the EV contract and our client was pleased with the outcome. That's really all that matters to us.
EDIT: Miso just opened a great thread on this in the General Forums. Linkage -

Quote: I decided to place the emphasis on story above all else this time. I tried some new things and used a lot of elements that I hope everyone can enjoy. All in all, this has been a tiring, but fulfilling project.
Hmmmm, well it is a step in the right direction but as for story... not really much behind it is there.
We had some text about the contract, the participants and then some fleet waving and a bit of ganking. I'm very much afraid that it sums it up.
You probably spent lots of time on it and want to move it in the right direction with added stories. Good on you, afraid I'll have to give this one a on the scale of
/Movie critique
Looks more like advertising than storyline to be honest.

Well, I guess you can't please everyone.
Seeing as how I've gotten mostly " " in this thread, I think my ego can handle it.

Not at all. I just made it because I think making movies is fun and I like sharing my experiences with the EVE community as many others have done. My next project will be an advertisment though and maybe I can get a out of you next time. -

You can make excellent vids but I have to admit that leafo from PA toppled you from my 1st spot in the ranking list. Ah well 2nd place isn't that bad either. :)
Good luck with making more vids ___________________________ Favorite bumpersticker of the month: My head hurts! |

Heh... if you say so. Like a lot of others I'm a EVE vid junkie and I don't think anyone other than maybe Leafo could keep me watching over fifteen minutes of "ganking". I found the cut away sequences to be a nice and original way of moving the story along. At the least it gave the whole thing a feel of progression lacking in many other productions. I thought the scrolling of the kill list during the Scorpion kill was comedy gold and this is one of the few times while watching a video I've actually been on the egde of my seat thinking, "What's gonna happen now?!" Did everyone realize that the second movie is over ten minutes long?? Sure doesn't feel like it!
A few people have flamed the number of ships shown killing targets in the videos and I don't get that. If anything time and time again the videos show a good level of teamwork between the two merc corps against their target. Since when is it not desireable to thoroughly DOMINATE an enemy?
Between these two vids and Leafo's new "Phoenix" movie, I'm in EVE-video heaven this week. ______________________________________
