Hi all. I'm looking for a new PC at the moment, and was wondering what the best setup would be for EVE. So far, it seems that ATI graphic cards are the way to go, with a large monitor (I have way to many windows open )
What, in the players opinion, would make the ideal system.
As the list builds, I'll edit this post, to make a spec for the EVE dream machine.

Hi Harriet,
2- or even 3-boxing runs fine on following system:
Pentium 4 - 3GHz (800 mhz fsb) 512 DDR RAM Radeon 9800 Pro 19" screen
------------------------------------------ Take care, Mesiree

Edited by: Ninna on 20/08/2004 12:01:33 Proccesser : 733mhz Memory : 300ish mb Graphics : Geforce (dont know what modell) Monitor : 21 inch Drive : 120gig Motherboard : Aopen Software : Windows 2000 Pro Soundcard : Soundblaster Live 1024 net connection : 2Mbit
This is what my friend runs, and there is a little bit of lag if there are more then 60ppl in the region when doing warps.
Im running Proccesser : amd 2600+ Memory : 512mb Graphics : Sapphire Radeon 7000 128mb Monitor : 21 inch Drive : 120gig Motherboard : A pretty expensive one I got from a friend, I have no idea what it is, except that I can run processors over 3ghz on it :D Software : Windows 2000 Pro Soundcard : Soundblaster Live 5.1 net connection : 2Mbit
I have no significant lag when warping or being around 60-200ppl in a region.

I'd say whatever your budget will stretch to.
Processor: AMD-64 3200+ (or faster)
Memory: 1Gig+ PC3200
Graphics: Whatever the Latest ATI/Nvidia have to offer and what you can afford... Both are pretty much the same for gameplay, users of both complain of glitches and errors.
Monitor: 19" TFT
Drive: 2x120gig SATA Raid 0 (means both drives act as a single drive, making access and read/write times quicker)
Motherboard: Hmm, If going for the above, something like a Gigabyte GA8KNS Pro will do you well, with support for sata drives, raid, gigabit network, 5.1 sound, and all the usual features.
Software: XP Pro
Soundcard: Use the onboard 5.1 (the same chipset as the xbox uses i think) A nice set of creative 5.1 speakers will be good.
Net Connection: DSL plugged into the network card on the motherboard.
