Edited by: Masdathesecond on 26/03/2009 13:22:31 I get the "Invalid patch file" error, proceeded with manually downloading the patch and applying it, now EVE wont start.
Appearantly, my EVE client is now corrupt and it's forcing me to reinstall... Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh....

Originally by: adgena tsk...must be user error. Patched fine for me.
And that means it works for everyone? Please be quiet, I'm having the same issue, although I won't throw an immature fit about it like the person above me.

I'm installing EVE from Steam now, since I can't even install the game after this patch.

Patching breaks the Steam version as well, fourth time reinstalling, thought third was the charm.

After playing EVE on Steam for the entire day yesterday, since it was the only thing that worked after this patch, just happy that I had gotten it to work.
Today Steam insists on updating EVE and guess what.
*drum roll*
....
..... VERIFICATION ERROR!
How you could botch a patch like this is beyond me, I didn't mind reinstalling those four times, but the fifth time, seriously. this is just ****ed up.

Sigh, this is ******ed.
Could someone with a working patch copy upload the two files:
Eve online/common.ini Eve online/lib/stdlib.ccp ?
Maybe replacing them with working versions will fix the verification errors.

I keep getting the patch that corrupts my install, this is the 7th time reinstalling, pathetic that even after the downtime this isn't fixed.

This is what I did to get it to work:
1. Download fresh copy from Steam 2. Backup it by using the steam backuper 3. Patch the game so it gets corrupt. 4. Go to your backup folder of EVE and double click the restoration EXE steam created 5. Follow the steps and at the end just click the link and close it then click finish, after I did this, EVE started working.
