1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 Surprised noone has mentioned the firebird Pontiac Firebird 1979 Mustang Shelby 1965 GT350 I actully dislike the "Ellinor" version. orig=best between the GT350 and GT500 it's a tie, these 2 are my favorites. Mustang Shelby 1967 GT500
they HAVE to haev a stick though, otherwise it ain't a real car(don't understand hows automatics are standard in usa :/)
Hood pins bug me D: but aside from that, oooooooooh.
As for manual/automatic: Eh, lots of people don't know how to drive well already, and that's with automatics. making manuals standard would probably cause widespread havoc.
I don't know how to drive a stick , but for something like those, you better believe I'd learn
Hoodpins are teh sex, are you kidding me, they just have that "straight from the 60's" look.? Slant Grillz on the back windows are sexy as well.

Accept no substitute.
Jaguar E-type, from back when Britain had a car industry that wasn't owned overseas.
Probably one of the prettiest cars ever built, and the later versions had a V12 lump, instead of the 6 cylinder, and made in excess of 250 bhp.
One of me Mum's mates had a V12 convertable in the late 70s, back when you could pick one up for a pittance as no-one wanted them. She's still kicking herself for getting rid of it in favour of a Triumph Spitfire (nice car too, but not really in the same league).

One of the things I read about Jags what that the rods in the engines had a patented design, like a small concave fixture or bowl on the head, that helped create more pressure when firing giving a smaller engine much more HP than normal which made even the Jag V6 comparable or in many cases better than the standard V8 that our cars had.

This TBH. 0-60 Faster than a Corvette, better gas milage than a prius, way more fun than any "sports" car at normal driving speeds. And you can buy one new for $6200. _______________________________ Pleese exucse any seplling erorr's in tihs psot |

Isn't that the car that got extremely light on the front end when it started going quite fast (because it's shaped like an aeroplane wing).
There are only a few truly sexy cars...
Jag XJ220 - I have loved this car since forever. Countach and Diablo - Gullwings = the sex This had gullwings + optional extras Viper - Big and loud
Lotus always make good looking cars and i think this will carry on that trend =============================================

For that Sci-Fi feel you really can't beat the General Moters WTF.
Front
Back
Some more back-side
To bad it's just a dream in the mind of a crazy GM engineer...
A car with 100 years worth of fuel and minimal running cost would be awesome, if almost impossibly expensive.

My first car, and the car that I've liked most was like this. I've hated modern cars ever since I sold it. It was crude (altho not as crude as the good old UAZ I've driven) but the handling and feeling was just great. Really down to earth car, no powersteering or other modern stuff like that, and the floor was full of holes, but compared to it most of the modern cars just feel way too plasticky to me
I really miss that thing..
My second favorite car that I've driven is this one. I haven't tried driving a train (meh, actually I have when I was a kid), but if there is a car that feels like a train, this is it. Automatic gear, costs like hell and all that, sweet.

You can ride that bike for hours on end without discomfort. I know very very few people who can do that on a 600cc super sport. Also, it costs less both to buy and insure. If you know what you are doing it will be able to do anything a super sport can do legally on a road and then some. Unless you're using it on the track in which case I would say skip the 600 range and go for a literbike. _______________________________ Pleese exucse any seplling erorr's in tihs psot |

I am of course biased as I love my BMW Z8. Those Mustang's are nice, as are some of the Australian Holdens from the 70's. Basically I love the sound of a V8.

Edited by: Ryysa on 03/04/2009 13:59:19 The car I currently own/drive.
The car I am going to upgrade to, when I manage to sell my current one for a decent price.
I testdrove a scooby, and it is amazing. Especially here, where traction is non-existant for 4 months per yer, even with a rear LSD.
That, and I genuinely like Japanese cars.
P.S. Regarding bikes - when some moron plows into me head on, because he lost control of his vehicle, I'd like to have a decent chance at survival, so please don't litter a car based thread with bikes. For some reason, no one goes into a bike thread saying a car is better - it's always vice versa. EW Guide - Music Downloader - My Music |
