Hi,
I couldn't find a decent FW guide so I still have open questions: Will attacking/destroying/podding a player of an enemy militia have an effect on my standings ? Does the answer depend on whether I'm in FW myself or does it depend on system security ?
Thanks in advance.

No you can destroy the ship and pod of an enemy militia member without any standing hit. FW is like a BIG Wardec against the other faction members.
The Amarr and Caldari are opposed to the Gallente and Minmatar. You can fight without concord response in high sec, low sec and no sec..
Good luck in your FW endevours.

I gather you get a faction standings hit if you "capture plexes", which means staying within some distance of a beacon in the complex for some time (presumably while enemy NPCs and players try to stop you). Two questions:
1) Does killing the enemy faction NPCs in the plexes cause a faction standing hit, like (say) killing a Gallente Navy NPC in a mission given by a non-FW mission agent would? I.e. does the wardec cover their NPCs as well as their players?
2) Is it "socially acceptable" in the world of FW to just stay away from the beacon or stay out of plexing if you don't want a faction hit?
Basically, I'm kind of interested in FW but I don't want any faction standings hit at all, ever, not even a little bit, no exceptions. Can that reasonably be done?

Pascal,
If you have good standings with the NPC's, they wont attack you so you can just circle the beacon without agroing. You take no faction hit for capping complexes so as long as you dont attack the NPC's you remain safe from losing your faction. We saw the CSM Ank-something doing that this weekend and shes able to cap minors, mediums and majors solo in a T1 frigate...
I don't think it's a fair tactic nor in the spirit of FW but CCP doesnt seem to mind. Murashu Agony's End |

1) Yes it does :( One of the reasons I don't often do offensive plexing. Also, capturing a plex will eventually give you positive standings with one faction, and about half the standings subtracted from the opponent, much like missions.
2) In the gallente militia, definitely. I don't know about the caldari side of things, and even less about the minnies and amarr.
Yes it can be done. Just pvp, do not be in a plex when the plex is captured (there is a countdown timer and you can warp out). You can still camp the plexes with friendly NPCs in them without them shooting you for fights, and you can help others camp the plexes and warp out in the final 10-15 seconds.
While I accept the odd faction hit, I have a similar strategy as you do for fw. I am watching my caldari standings and will run caldari missions long before I am anywhere near not being able to use caldari agents.

This is not correct.
You do Not get a standings hit with the opposing Faction for capping plexs and gaining FACTION standing with your Militia's faction.
People are confusingthe Militia Corporation standings with the faction ie Gallente/Caldari faction.
Chatgris, check your Caldari Faction standings. you'll only get a hit there by shooting at the NPCS.

When I said eventually give you positive standings with one faction, I was referring to when you finally cap enough plexes to gain a rank, then you get a faction increase to gallente and faction hit to caldari.
e.g.
(gallente) 2009.03.30 02:12 12.4198% Promotion (caldari) 2009.03.30 02:12 -6.1033% Derived Modification (minmatar) 2009.03.30 02:12 6.2102% Derived Modification (amarr) 2009.03.30 02:12 -2.2692% Derived Modification
Do you agree with me now?
Also, I was wondering today, once you reach the max rank, do you stop getting faction standing increases with the gallente? (since there are no more promotions to get?)
