Edited by: Scetrov on 31/03/2009 20:38:44 EVEMon is once again under new stewardship, Araan Sunn and Myself (Scetrov, a.k.a. Richard) will be working together to bring you updates and new features to EVEMon as quickly as time allows.
Please allow the previous thread to die, so that I can update the head of this thread with new version information.
The latest version is: 1.2.7.1284 (Download | Changes)
Thank you to BattleClinic for hosting EVEMon, and to all of the contributors and testers that have helped us out.

Originally by: Delana Locke On the official EVEMon site, the "stable" installer and binaries both point to version 1.2.7.1283, instead of .1284.
Also, the link for the binary download doesn't work for either .1283 or .1284.
That was my fault, thank you.

Update to the latest "snapshot" version on the EVEMon website the issue you mentioned above has been fixed.

I am working on implementing the Skill Queue at the moment, it is taking me a while to work through the bits of the existing code base to understand them and get the skill data from the API to the EVEMon UI, unfortunately there isn't any documentation to explain how to do it :).

Zezzix,
EVEMon 1.2.7.1283 supports the functionality you describe, as soon as a skill tips over the 1.6m SP threshold it calculates the bonus, this was implemented before CCP changed it in game (I thought CCP would do it that way first time round).
Training times are calculated for skill plans as if they were trained in plan order. You can test this by moving a skill from the end to the beginning, assuming that skill doesn't finish over the 1.6m threshold it will halve in length.
Individual skills in the user interface, are shown as if you were to stop training the current skill and start training the skill you are looking at at the second you view it.

CCP have taken the database that backs the API down (or probably more likely prevented API access to the database), there is probably some database performance problems they are trying to isolate without peripheral services complicating matters.

Clear all of the skill queues from within EVE of each of the characters on that account, see if that helps. Failing that post on the Battleclinic forums there are people there who are far better at figuring out API issues than myself.

I can select the char when I use the "add existing unmonitored characters" function. The avatar will show up, but nothing else... No skills, no corp, no balance etc... Refreshing does not work either as well as restarting eve. I dont have this problem with any other char so far... Any suggestions what could be wrong? Possibly this is just the same problem as stated 2 posts above. Ill check battleclinic as well, but would be cool if someone here has a good idea! Quanten
Check to see if the alt in question has a paused skill queue, for some reason this breaks the API. Failing that make a post on BattleClinic and someone will look into it for you.

Blue Harrier,
That is interesting, I develop on a Windows 7 RC workstation without problem, can you tell me where EVEMon is installed? What you describe can happen on any operating system if you install EVEMon to say C:\EVEMon rather than C:\Program Files\EVEMon, the installer is hard-coded to install to Program Files, so when the updater downloads and installs EVEMon it updates the version in C:\Program Files\EVEMon but not the one you have a shortcut to. |

Alexis,
I have had a look into this for you. I am using the latest data files Zofu provided EVEMon, the same ones that are available through EVEMon Auto-Update. All of the skills, probes and launchers you mention are present and as far as I can tell correct.
Astrometrics Skills Scanner Probes Probe Launchers
The Astrometric Aqusisition skill you mentioned has been renamed to Astrometric Rangefinding in Apocrapha 1.0.2.
Please can a ask you to check that you have the latest data files, the MD5 sums are as follows:
6f2d98b7a141abc9bcf654c9c96467e3 *eve-certificates.xml.gz fe55f5fe8d7e9eed627331f8d9827d56 *eve-implants2.xml.gz 0611b0948a8116c874d7449ee5d7aa68 *eve-items2.xml.gz 568b8b0065b27467b4ef9c5073e0bd18 *eve-ships2.xml.gz 62855ea270a90d9f54f86a13e0c32eee *eve-skills2.xml.gz
It would be worth checking that "Disable automatic EVEMon updates" is not checked in Tools -> Options -> Updates. I hope that helps.

Data files are typically updated twice as often as the builds, depending on what CCP is doing in their own patches. Thanks to zofu we are not reliant on CCP releasing a data dump.

We made some changes to fix some existing bugs with Window relocation, the changes have caused some users to report that they need to switch away from the EVE client and back to get the Window Relocation to work.
The way I do it, is press the start key then click back to the EVE window.
We are working on a fix without rolling back the fixes for the other Window Relocation bugs.

Angelina Morgan,
It appears from that message that you have another application which is using the same port as the IGB mini-server built into EVEMon. This should be fairly simple to resolve with a little bit of notepad hackery.
1) Close EVEMon then, Navigate to "%APPDATA%\EVEMon" 2) Take a copy of settings.xml as a backup 3) Open settings.xml in notepad 4) Look for the line that says
<IGBServerPort>80</IGBServerPort>
5) replace the 80 with 81 don't touch any of the text in brackets (< >) either side of the 80. Start EVEMon again.

It is the "settings.xml" file not the "settings.xml.bak" file you need to edit, the .bak file is the backup that EVEMon takes every time it starts.
The file is an XML file which similar in structure to HTML what you need to do is remove the whole block relating to the account you don't want any more, the block is bounded by the <AccountDetails> and </AccountDetails> tags. As an example, this is part of my test settings.xml:
<Accounts> <AccountDetails> <UserId>100000</UserId> <ApiKey>XXXYYYZZZXXXYYYZZZ</ApiKey> <CachedUntil>2009-07-31T20:09:32.0507812Z</CachedUntil> <StoredCharacterList> <PairOfStringInt32> <A>Alice</A> <B>100100</B> </PairOfStringInt32> </StoredCharacterList> </AccountDetails> <AccountDetails> <UserId>2000000</UserId> <ApiKey>XXXYYYXXXYYYXXXYYY</ApiKey> <CachedUntil>2009-07-31T20:09:32.8613281Z</CachedUntil> <StoredCharacterList> <PairOfStringInt32> <A>Dave</A> <B>200200</B> </PairOfStringInt32> </StoredCharacterList> </AccountDetails> </Accounts>
To remove the account with Dave on, I would do the following:
Find the <AccountDetails> tag before the Dave character, and delete everything up to and including the next </AccountDetails> tag.
<Accounts> <AccountDetails> <UserId>100000</UserId> <ApiKey>XXXYYYZZZXXXYYYZZZ</ApiKey> <CachedUntil>2009-07-31T20:09:32.0507812Z</CachedUntil> <StoredCharacterList> <PairOfStringInt32> <A>Alice</A> <B>100100</B> </PairOfStringInt32> </StoredCharacterList> </AccountDetails> </Accounts>
Hope that makes sense.

It stems from a bug in the API which returns inaccurate data if a skill has been paused and re-started, i.e. when you resume a skill the API makes it appear that it started from scratch, not from where it left off.
Different parts of EVEMon get their data from different places, some calculate some just fetch the data from the API that is why it is different in different places.

All of your plans are stored in %APPDATA%\EVEMon along with your settings, upgrading EVEMon will not delete you plans. In the unlikely event something goes wrong EVEMon keeps backups of your settings.xml file which contains everything.
There was a data file update for Dominion 1.0, no application update. Ensure you have auto-update selected in settings and EVEMon will update itself and the data files when a new version is available.

@Daneel Trevize, Can you post a screenshot for me.
@Leocadminone, This is actually fixed in 1.3.0, however seing as 1.2.8 launches the installer it won't take effect untill the next auto-update. With regards to training queue on the front, EVEMon will remember which view you had each character in, so if training queue was selected last that will be first. Regardless of which view you are using the currently training skill is shown at the problem. If this is not the case, please could you provide a screenshot either here, on BattleClinic or via Twitter to @EVEMon.
@Breaker77, There is an option in settings (Tools -> Options... -> System Tray Icon...) set for display the TrayIcon select "Always", for Main Window close behaviour select "Minimize to System Tray".
@Dental Floss, I am unsure what you mean by nothing happened? no Characters were added?

If you are still having problems can I ask you to post on the BattleClinic forums, there are more people there who will be able to help you resolve the problem.

Is EVEMon reporting the wrong information, or the correct information with an error message displayed? These seem to be an issue with EVEMon an the API, unfortunately none of the development team can reproduce the issue.
If you have any ideas, let me know. In the mean time I am working on an improved logging mechanism.

@Killer128: The greyed out menu items is described in this Wiki Article.
@Harrik: Yes the CCP API Servers are taking longer to respond than they used to, 10 seconds used to be plenty of time now it can take between 10 and 20 seconds.
I have posted a Release Candidate for the next version of EVEMon which makes it very easy to change the HTTP Timeout if you are getting that error.

I have released 1.3.3 to provide users with the ability to configure the HTTP timeout so as to avoid the error messages caused by laggyness from the EVE API Servers.

shows blueprints i can very well research. all skills shown with green hook bottom right
Sigh... yes, I know this. It is because the Required Skills panel actually relates to the currently selected panel. I spent days trying to convince the contributor that it would be confusing, but for the sake of all of the development teams mental health I allowed it through on the principal that I might be wrong. Not as many people have noticed it as I had expected so in a way I was.

Originally by: SumoCow I have been unable to access my character's skill queue's or API related info for the past few days... i.e. Market sales status and the skills. It is also happening in EVEHQ... I goto the API Key link in the Account manager, and it is the same one that I provided to EVEMon and EVEHQ, yet it tells me that I am entering in a wrong key!
I have also tried creating a new key, waiting an hour and putting that new key in, and still have the same errors.
what's going on?
There are some serious performance issues going on with the API at the moment, CCP are aware of it I don't think anyone in the community has pinpointed it to a specific cause, however it could be load on CCPs servers or some networking issues with one of the core network providers.
