Any of the fighters from the Wing Commander series, but especially the heavy attack fighter from WC3. Man, that was a sweet-ass ship.

Anyone remember the arcade game Darius? (Back in the 80s? When you had to go to "Video Game Arcade" with a pocket full of quarters? Darius was three monitors wide, lots of sound, fish bosses?
I could probably take a Hammerhead for a spin (some 2D to 3D translation would be required of course): http://www.geocities.com/hugedb/Bosses/IHammer.html

I wouldn't mind taking Horuses flag ship the Vengeful spirit from WH40k for a spin around EVE with main weapon batteries the size of an EVE cap ship with thousands of smaller batteries and point defense weapons, whole squadrons of fighters, heavy attack ships and boarding craft with legions of angry space marines and all their gunships and ground armour in case I felt like conquering a few planets or empires while I was pootling around. -

Sorry but the Pic you posted does not show the Nostromo but it's landing Boat which the Nostromo Crew used to land on the Planet with the crashed Alien Ship.
This is the real Nostromo. The Nostromo was a Heavy Ore Freighter.
I prefer the Sulaco from Aliens II.

Ship fitting forums have some of my "inventions" in there.
It's only a matter of inspiration, non-efficiency and some good old fashioned fit-work to fly any ship in the universe.

Dahak, Utu class or the replacement hull. I dont care. The 50k year old Utu class hull is recjkoned to be powerful enough to crush the Star Wars galaxylike a bug, having one in EvE would be awesome. Sleepers wouldnt know what HIT them.
Why have a battlestation that IS NO MOON, when you can HAVE the moon!
(Dahak *IS* Earths moon, a giant starship covered in a thin layer of rock and dust. Most of the big craters are weapon ports)

negative. Nostromo was the tug ship that landed on planet. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nostromo_(spaceship)&oldid=229107957
agreed on Sulaco, tho rokh is close enough.

most of the ships here would never work in eve because often they got more than 16 guns (remember we got 8 covering each half bubble) and also features weapon systems not only designed NOT to shoot thru the ship their mounted on but also use them all at the same time!

Originally by: digital0verdose Edited by: digital0verdose on 03/04/2009 17:14:05 Playing EvE it seems like there are some pretty cool ships and some pretty bad ones, in terms of design/aesthetics. What ship(s) from another source would you like to be able to pilot around in EvE?
I have always been partial to the Star Wars A-Wing and Y-Wing which would obviously be frigates.
They wouldn't be frigates.
A-Wing would probably be a Light Combat Drone Y-Wing would be a Medium Combat Drone B-Wing possibly would be a Heavy Combat Drone X-Wing would be a Medium Combat Drone TIE/ln would be Light Combat Drone TIE Advanced/TIE Bomber would be Medium Combat Drones TIE Defender would be a Heavy Combat Drone if the B-Wing is as well.
CCP could have made a fortune if they could of got use of the SW IP reskinned EVE into a SW game as well and had a SW server. (It would have made a nice time frame during the Rebellion era when there were no active Jedi and only Vader and the ever reclusive Emperor).
Security would be from Core systems (1.0 systems) to Outer Rim Territories (0.0). Security set by how the Galactic Empire looks at it. Certain border sectors could serve like factional warfare where you could join the Rebel Alliance or Galactic Empire :)....0h well one can dream.
(A Battlestar Galactica skinned one would do well to, it could be set during the initial Colony-Cylon war....I'd used classic BG rather than the recent redo)
(A Star Trek one based near the Neutral Zone would be interesting :) )

Going with an unusual option: the Rama from Arthur C Clarke's books. The idea of flying a living breathing research lab is very appealing.
For something more convetnional - the Arc Hammer from Dark Forces, probably Battleship sized.
For something fighter sized....the R-Type fighter!
One of these babies can chew through almost anything (except on the 4th level of R-Type Delta where I get owned by the huge stomping robot). Imagine a *carrier-load* of R-Type fighters.....mmwwwhaaaa.....

The USS Defiant from Star Trek DS9.
THAT was a beast of a little ship. The funny thing about this sentence is that by the time you've finished reading it, it's too late for you to realise it doesn't say anything. |
