Why is WoW better than Eve?
Not so many ppl in WoW constantly making threads comparing it to Eve.
Geez, the signal to noise ratio on these forums ... --

Well WoW is obviously Good or you wouldn't feel threatened to keep bashing it all the time........
WoW = 10 million players
EVE = 200-300k?
The whole Mc Donalds argument is stupid here too because you eat for convenience on your lunch break or whatever. You game for fun and you only stay playing a game because it is fun, specially one with a subscription. So the majority find WoW to be a better game where as EVE is not liked by most and is niche. Alot of people who like niche things aswel only like them because they hate anything popular...... which is sad and considering you have to bash it with this post then I'd say you're one of them people.
Alot of people claim they're smarter for playing EVE but really everything you do in EVE is highly repetitive like mining or agent missions. Now more intelligent people tend to get bored of repetitive tasks and tend to keep wnting to do new things.

100 trilion flies can't be wrong — eat fµces. This fallacy was identified as such a couple of thousand years ago.

Yes, and? Majority support ≠ better.

By your own admission, you haven't played EVE much, and it shows. No, repetitive tasks is not "everything" in EVE — it's only the stuff that's instantly abailable and immediately obvious. Intelligent people recognise this and start playing the rest of the game… ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in =v=… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

WoW was formed on the back of an existing franchise, and it has a massive marketing budget.

I'm gonna get moderatly flamed for this.
But WoW is not a bad game. It may not be as intelligent or giving the same sense of freedom like EVE. But when I played it, that was not the point. I played so I could chill with my friends. Maybe complete an instance or something.
I stopped playing because I thought it was too grindy, but those who enjoy it should not be the target of people who think that what they are playing is teh best game that everybody has to play.
tl;dr EVE is better then WoW. IMO!

Eve is better because this kind of players only dwell in wow:

I dont know if youve heard it, but the Internet are actually worldwide. English may be a language we learn in school when we are 17 but we dont maintain it, as we age it slowly dissapears.

That is exactly the point of WoW. I enjoyed it for a while too, but anyone who has enjoyed it can see that its appeal has more in common with Facebook and MySpace than a multiplayer game. I wagered while I played WoW that 80% of the players pick up a box with a sticker that said "Great for picking up chicks!" (I could not find that box in my stores).
In that respect, Facebook totally kicks WoW's ass and it has a horrible UI.

Edited by: Neo Omni on 04/04/2009 21:54:57 EVE is somewhat based on reality. Everything in EVE can become reality someday.
WOW is based on fantasy. Everything in WOW can become reality only if you are in a drug induced coma.

I know a lot of people who played WoW even though they were completely bored with it. They were so bored they even farmed heroics for badges to get items for their alts to try and aleiviate the bordem and once they got those alts to level 80 they found themselves back where they started. This reveals a simple flaw of WoW in that whatever class you roll or spec you choose you ultimately are going to be doing one of three things which are not particually challenging in the first place.
For most people though the constant small rewards and the variery of ways of doing the exact same thing are usually enough to hold their interest. In addition I find players feel obligated to stay playing the game and raiding with a guild because they've taken drops and whatever.
