Even with high gunnery skills a webber is very usefull to help your heavy drones to hit a frigate.
Try it out, i think it makes a noticable difference.
Oh and another thing, a webber stops enemies from moving away, which means you dont have to mwd after them, saving cap and kepeing your sig radius as low as possible.
Nice thread, though im kinda doubtfull if that high armor build is any good compared to the more standard hardening builds. Guess i have to try it :P

Trying the high armor setup now. And i love it!
5 named light neutrons
1 named webber 1 10mwd 1 named cap battery
1600 rolled tungsten 2x Energized regenerative membrane 1 (12.5%) 1x RCU 1 named medium armor repairer
4800 something armor, my last setup with 2 hardeners had way way less, i feel like a mini-battleship.
With lvl5 in hull upgrade i could use the tech2 membranes for another 5% armor, and of course 5% from the skill. Im working towards being able to use a tech2 armor repairer also but i manage really well without it.
I am doing lvl3 agent mission and i have yet to find a spawn where i run out of armor :P

Originally by: Pyran Has anyone had the chance to test one of these configs against the (presumably new) higher end lvl 3 missions? I had to go up against 2 mercenary commanders (carcal) and 10 mercenary elite fighters (elite merlins) and they all spewed missiles like hell... and tore my thorax into pieces . Now it wasn't a blasterax but a railgun config that has served me up 'till now... (I've gone through all the other spawn from agent missions).
The question is can the configs seen in this thread go up against that kind of punishment? My armour repair II was overwhelmed in seconds (using a named 400mm armour and energised adaptive membrane... and a smartbomb as missile defence).
Thanks for all the info here btw, i'll try it tonight .
That kind of damage is on the extreme level, it comes down to damage output. Can you kill them before they wear you down? If you can get into your optimal, preferably close so your heavydrones can reach them fast. Or warp out and fit 2x 50% hardeners against their missile type. That will make it easy, kinda cheating though but hey :)
