Ok so im thinking, overloading is pretty cool but i think their should be a way to make your character better at it, obviously with skills and possible introduce implants or something.
for instance a shield booster gets a 15% duration and 10% shield boost bonus. maybe make a skill that increases duration by 1% and shield boost bonus by 2% or 1% or whatever something like this, and for everything.
Hybrid Overloading, laser overloading, etc, and require thermodynamics 5.
I think this would be a cool addition to the game.

I think with ccp's input, along with any other capsuleers that want to support this idea. I think it has a chance to be something cool.

I think there comes a time when "overclocking" is no longer an option, but a necessity.
If you make it too easy, or too appealing, then the 110% you're operating at becomes the norm.
If you want higher performance out of your equipment... you can either overclock it for a while, or you can just install something better. |

Heres the cool thing bout overloading.... you cant run it 110% of the time cause ur mods will burn out fast.

I meant that you're counting on the 110% effort the module would be putting out. Not that you'd be using it 110% of the time.
If people start counting on the ability to overheat the modules, rather than being happy with what they have, or moving on to the next stronger module... then pretty soon it's not a "temporary bonus" as much as it's "the thing to do". |

whats wrong with adding a bonus to the modules as long its not overpowered, makes the game more interesting you never know if someone can do it or not, not mayn that can overload as it is so.
not to mention im not suggesting a huge bonus just a minor one to make things more interesting.

Edited by: Santiago Fahahrri on 05/04/2009 01:18:19 I like the idea and I think there's probably potential for a new rig devoted to overloading - something that either makes the overload stronger or helps it last longer while doing the same amount of heat damage. ~ Santiago Fahahrri Galactic Geographic |
