So I'm going into my first wormhole, a class 1, bringing a drake, noctis, small control tower and ship maintenance array with me.
Anything else I might want? I've got a billion ISK at my disposal and I'm bored of hi-sec so this is just a test mainly. |

Do not underestimate the importance of having backup scanner alts logged off inside the WH - doesn't take more than a couple of days to train a basic T1 scanning frig on a spare char slot.
While an unprotected small tower in a C1 probably won't be too much of a problem and paid for several times over if you run sites semi regularly by the time it gets bashed/if it gets bashed but in general undefended small POSes attract people attacking them as they don't take long to RF and theres always the chance they won't have stront. |

Oh yeah of course I'm going to be using my non-implant jump clone for this little adventure. Only planning on staying in a few days or until I get podded, whichever happens first. I mainly just want to experience something new. |

More corpmates? Read up on WH planning, POS setup guides, wh effects, learn about the tools for wormholers, and then... Join a wh corp that already exists. Don't try running it solo unless you really have background and are willing to take losses when some people come looking to take out your tower. |

As others said before me: SCANNER ALT. The essence of these characters is in their helping hand when your main got ganked and podded (that will be happen a few times).
If you dont want to lose your little home fast, keep at least one of these alts logged off in your wh on a safespot.
Good luck and fly safe! |

I considered that, but he's only going to be in there a couple of weeks, and besides a small tower can't actually online a SMA, CHA and XL array, so when he anchors the XL array you know he's a complete toolbag because it can't ever get onlined profitably. Good luck with your w-space venture.
I do not buy into the "don't go solo" school of thought. That will be no surprise since most of my w-space life (C2 /C3/C4/C5) has been 'solo' - me, myself, and I. I have lost a heap more of my w-space stuff in a single hisec suicide gank than I have in all the time I spent solo in w-space. No matter what other people will say, I see the likelihood of your POS being bashed as being very very low ... unless you draw undue attention to yourself. The likelihood of you, yourself or alts, being ganked is also fairly low if you're just careful and sensible.
Yes, you must be willing to accept the losses ... and no matter how careful you are there will probably be some ... but please do not be putoff solo w-space by the naysayers. It's entirely do-able and you can make a fair bit of isk relatively safely. Most of my eve-life now has been in w-space and I think my total w-space ship losses, including all my alts, is about a half dozen ... with only one expensive loss (my beautiful loki).
As for scanner alt(s) ... absolutely!! I always had a main scanner alt in my home system and 2 or 3 backup scanners. The main scanner had very high skills and the backups were at lower skill levels ... with skillbooks in their cargo holds in some cases. These guys were my insurance policy, in case my main scanner got podded out without having BMs for our current access route to empire space. It never happened, but I'm still glad I did it and will do exactly the same when I next setup a w-space home.
A decent scanner alt does not take an awful lot of training. I've now trained a bundle to 5-4-4-4 and decent support skills for their covops frigate ... it's only a couple months training time for each. My early-days scanner alts flew T1 frigates with cloaking device and other gear that I fitted and they could not yet use. They carried the scanning skillbooks in their cargoholds and lived their lives logged-off in my home system. My plan, if needed, was to train them up in-system should the worst happen ... and to use them to keep the POS fuelled while this happened.
We can build and sell pretty much every ship. Check my bio for details. Our pirate epic arc completion packages really are very good: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=12973&find=unread |

You may want to bring a corporate hangar array, so you don't need to carry everything in the Noctis.
Other than that my best advice is to travel light, both in terms of m3 and ISK, and of course to have fun.
Good luck. |

If you are not gonna mine, and it's just you solo for a week or two, then you could easily get by with just a GSC floating inside the force field. Sleeper loot from sites is small, and you won't need storage for extra POS fuel. |

If you never installed a POS before, I would advise you to log into the test server and do a rehearsal there. All POS modules cost 100 isk on SiSi, and there is no one to annoy you while you do your test.
Wh space is not as bad as it sounds, you re not gonna get podded the second you jump in, just be carefull, use Dscan very regularly and stay align to a SS or a celestial when you run sites.
Good luck and if you like the experience, upgrade at the very least to a medium POS and put some guns in there.

Well its been a day since I started my venture and I've already lost 1 POS. I was stupid and didn't D-scan the whole system and it was occupied but meh I won't make that mistake again. My second try went a lot better I was able to find an unoccupied C2 hole where I got a small POS set up anchored with enough fuel to last one week. I figured I'd make that my time limit, 1 week or until I get podded, again.
So far I've completed 10 sites for a total of 45 melted nanoribbons which covers half my startup cost. I was also contacted by the alliance that bashed my first POS and invited to join their wormhole corp where I could set up my own POS or set up in one of their own in the first wormhole I died in. They said it was pretty obvious I was new and could use some help lol. So once my one week trial period is up if I so decide I'm going to join them in their wormhole.
All in all its been a good 22 1/2 hours in wormholes and I'm thinking I'm going to stay in wormholes. |

Don't go solo. Anything with a static hi is inviting to get ganked. Don't go solo. Anything with a static hi is NOT easier that other wh. Don't go solo.
Unless of course you only want to do PI. Then you want a large pos and 6-9 toons in a system. |

Always worth while teaming up with others in a wh, especially if they have a c3 or higher and/ or nice statics, that way if you do catch the pod express home and you don't have a scanning alt in system (:derp: I've done this) there's someone who can scan an entrance.

If your flying a Drake and you want to go for a short term WH adventure go with a small, 2 drakes, a noctis, stront+fuel, a hanger thingy and scanning alt. Although i wouldnt advise this if you just want to wormhole dwell for a small bit id reccomend just a ship plus scanning noctis alt and be a nomad.
Now what i WOULD reccomend is permenant or long-term residence in a c1 with static c1+2 or c2 with static c1+c2. Get a medium pos, put guns neuts scrams and ecm on it. Also get a pvp ship 2 PvE ships 2 noctiss and multiple scanning frigs. Anf Sfcourse the other important stuff im too lazy to remember.
Ideally you should just join a wormhole corp though. Ours is recruiting(i think)
