Its been a standing complain since the very first apocrypha edition on Sisi. This must be another one of those "CCP listens but disagrees" complaints.

Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application.

In the original warp effect the blue and red shift was an actual color change. In the new Apocrypha one its just a blue semi-transparent texture overlay. Anyone who uses Photoshop will know the difference between the two. As a result the new blue shift looks incredibly cheesy, because it doesn't actually change the underlying space background colors. Not the apocrypha, nor the apocrypha 1.1 warp effects come close to matching the old one. The same could be said for the stasis webifier effect.

It has some filters applied, but that makes it easier to see the blue shift in what is a brown system. The middle is a star, then around it you can see the blue, and then in the top middle above the lens flare you can see the background turning purplish from the mix before going back to brown. Linkage
