I was wondering - if you smartbomb in the vicinity of your own POS modules does the POS go agressed to your own corp?
They seriously need to work on that tho we've had people do things that are relatively benign before but result in the POS agressed to our own corp for 15 minutes its crazy. |

AdZc wrote:We came across an Adhocracy gang, who camped us inside our WH, at the time we had been a bit quiet so we came up with a plan. We knew this would most liekly result in death and destruction for us all, but if it worked it would be awesome. They had the fleet across each side of the WH so our plan was sacrifice 2 orcas to collpase the WH, splitting the fleet, as numbers were against us this should have given us an advatange (we had carrier support) Unfortunatley the plan failed.....the orcas did not collapse the WH, resulting in most of the fleet making it to our side THEN collapsing it! However it was a very good fight, we managed to get a legion and a falcon before adhoc got the RR gang they had setup and we couldnt break it. One of our guys survived, a lone Rokh pilot XD http://victrix.hyunkell.com/killboard/?a=kill_related&kll_id=204Lots of GFs for that and probably our biggest fight yet :)
I die a little inside when I see BRs like that, having triage on the carrier and a fleet with the same tanking composition would have completely swung the fight. |

They have a fairly big WH presence - tho they toned it down a bit after certain events - quite a few C5s held for gas sites by the looks of it some on alt corps (kinda given away when they use -A- chars for hauling to null) and some by engarde, etc. and some C3s that I'm not sure the purpose of - they are probably making quite a killing but have learnt to keep it a bit quieter rather than go head to head with the likes of AHARM, SSC, WHH, etc. |

Arox Dax wrote: Yep we took an armour fleet into a Pulsar, then wondered why we lost, props to the guys in Censored corp who didn't panic and did what they had to do, they probably wet themselves laughing at us all night, hell we laughed at ourselves.
I would normally finish off by saying something like, lessons learned, we won't do that again, next time we'll check, but hey, we'll probably see some targets, jump into our ships and do it all over again, why ? Cos we play to have fun, shooting stuff is fun, win or lose, we live in the best part of Eve, wormhole space, we can make isk to replace stuff, so while we failed we laughed about it, and that's what's it about.

Just seen this post :D we used to live in a pulsar and I always used to hope someone would jump our dreads with a tasty selection of bhaals :D (this was before the XL sig nerf so a single target painter would bloom a BS up to dread gun sig radius).
Quite funny when someone opens to you, forms a fleet up then realises its a pulsar and can't get out again quick enough. |

Terrorfrodo wrote:Now we had two carriers and two escalation spawns in the site and couldn't bring the dreads in because they would have triggered even more sleepers. We also couldn't bring subcaps because they would get blown up. And we couldn't get out because we were scrambled when not in triage anyway. Tbh I was somewhat lost for a few minutes, trying to comprehend how our second carrier had managed to mess up the op in what was basically the only possible way available to him Eventually we called in a third carrier and tried to clear the sleepers with fighters, but they got so much aggro and did so little damage that it was no use. We decided that we log out and log in only one carrier after next downtime and then clear the site as it was originally planned.
Bringing sub-caps in would have been ok aslong as you had atleast one carrier in triage and armor links (sig reduction link is nice to have to) and used either t3 hulls or massively tanked battleships i.e. abaddons with their resist bonus.
Fighters clear guardians ok if you use firbolgs - the others especially einherji are rubbish against sleepers - with a webby loki (which you can keep alive against 20 guardians with a single triage rep if its properly fit) 9-10 firblogs will kill a guardian in about 2.5 minutes then which isn't ideal but better than nothing. Probably need a couple of lokis so one isn't being constantly neuted out but this also takes aggro away from the fighters.
PS thats one of the best fail posts I've read so far. |

Terrorfrodo wrote: edit: But why are Firbolgs better than Einherj? According to EFT, Firbolgs have less armor HP, are slower, have worse optimal, worse tracking... seem to be inferior on all stats.
I don't actually know entirely why - partly I think einherji end up shooting sleepers a lot deeper into falloff for some reason - it may be that even under ideal conditions einherji just can't orbit close enough to their 1km optimal range whereas firbolgs are getting closer to their 1.5km optimal. (I haven't actually studied it but the combination of faster speed and needing to be closer could potentially result in them overshooting quite a lot).
I was bored one day and had a go at it with the different fighters and then used a log analyser (tho I could tell by the time difference that some where better than others) and firbolgs were consistently coming out on top for applied dps by a fair margin overall. Templars are quite decent under ideal conditions as well but the worse tracking hinders them under less ideal conditions. |
