Noted, that's an easy change, it's on my list.
Originally by: Random Excess When you search for a pilot, it simply lists all their losses and the links take you to each of those losses. There is no way to get to the pilot's info page from there, nor does it list their kills which is available from the info page.
Okay, i can alter that. I'll also link the victims/killers to their stats page.
Originally by: Random Excess what does the adjustment value actually do?
It's an adjustment value to offset loot that hasn't been recovered or that naturally 'goes missing' or maybe the recorded prices on the database aren't 100% accurate, etc. e.g. you kill a nice ship on the gate and when he calls for backup you have to leave, leaving the loot behind. This adjustment takes care of the 'missing' loot. I found 17%-20% works well. It doesn't mean you're swizzing people out of hard earned loot, just that some of it slips through the cracks. This is based on experience of using this board over a 3 month period.
Thanks for the report, I'm away for this weekend but i'll get on it, starting next week. ta.

Do pirates kill POS's? Do you mean a kill on a POS structure, or a POS killing a pilot?

Not always but Small Corps like mine do have the tendency to pop them If "our" space is breached.
We have a POS structure on our killboard that we popped and posted just fine. Our POSes also show up on the Killmail if they shoot a ship. So Dunno if he means when we actually kill the POS which I think is what it is but Ive never tried posting a POS. |

What about allowing pilots to indicate whether they successfully recovered the loot, say with a check box, when they enter the killmail? Now perhaps you don't trust your members to do that accurately, but... I personally think it should be an option instead of a staight up adjustsment. |

There is a checkbox on the kill page to indicate wether or not the loot was placed in the loot hangar.
The adjustment value doesn't seem necessary but after a while you will see it is needed. This is not necessarily down to pilots being untrustworthy but because there are so many variables you have to take into account. When 'payday' comes around you have to have enough loot in the loot hangar available to be sold to a value that matches or exceeds the total loot payout from the loot page, otherwise you have a deficit and it's gonna cost your corp.
Variables are: - market flucuations (you can't revise all prices for all kills on payday) - loot not dropped in hangar but the tick box is mistakenly left on - only half the loot recovered because of limited cargo space - etc
A value of between 17-20% seemed to work out well.
If you have a good day and sell all the loot for way more than what you have accounted for then pay a dividend to the pilots!

Updated ledger to version 1.3b See the first post in this thread for the complete feature listings and downloads.
Main Changes:
- Added proper URL encoding for URLs where needed.
- Stopped header error messages showing.
- Added the ability to search for Pirates and Victims.
- A few HTML optimisations.
Ammendments made due to feedback. To upgrade just replace all your PHP files from the Ledger.zip.
Remember, bug reports welcome!
Enjoy. |

I am not interesting in tracking for my corp. Our members are free agents, we do not have a "loot hanger". I am merely interested in tracking the stats of my pilots.
Is it possible to turn off this adjustment? |

Have you done anything for API or feed integration yet? I understand your hesitation when it comes to "has the pilot put the goods in the hangar?" If it's fed by API or feed, then perhaps you can assume no and allow the pilot to adjust this later.
Also, what about batch import/export of kills?
Thanks, great kb btw!

EDK supports import/export of both individual files (one km per file, .txt extension) or a single .csv file with km's quoted and comma delimited. I'd prefer the single file import/export method since it's much cleaner.

Is there a question in there somewhere? If you're posting problems i need more info than just the error message, for example what page you were trying to view, what you did to produce the error, etc.
Saying that, it looks like the script is not able to load '..\Pirate Ledger\images\interface\graphs\LootDetails_template.png'. Does this file exist on your server? If not get it from the Ledger.zip on the first thread page.
In fact whenever you want to update your install to a new version, it's best to copy the entire Ledger.zip files to your webspace, that way you have all the new stuff.

That error was happening when trying to click on any of the top 10 on the kills.php page that takes you to their "personal" kills page.
The images were there... I deleted them and re uploaded them and it started to work.. Somehow I think it got corrupted on upload or something with my server was going on. But after putting the images back it worked. |

The website title could use some form of main integration as well... But thats just a minor thing..
What I mean by title is in the header... where you name your website... Theres numorous pages that have Pirate Ledger and have to manually be changed to reflect your corp name or alliance if you use the PL as an alliance KB..
Again just something minor. |

This. Major issue for me at the momment.
Another thing: There should be some kind of feature where you can enter in how much a ship's insurance payout is, then have a pilot check whether or not a ship was insured when they lost it. For example, I lost a hurricane yesterday. With insurance (paying me 40m or so) I only lost around 40m on the ship, but its showing up as -80-something million isk off my overall isk earned because it doesn't factor in insurance. As isk efficiency is the main reason I fly BCs (t1 insurance ftw), and I decided to use this killboard specifically because of its focus on isk lost and earned, this seems like a very vital feature.
Likewise, there should be a "loot was recovered" feature for losses as well as kills. That way if I die, drop a 90m faction mod (not that I fly like that, but for the sake of example) and I recover the faction mod, I don't get 90m off my overall amount earned.
Yet another thing: It would be nice to have kill total show up on the main page under the loot total. I know it is less important, but I'd like to track both (like how EVEdev KB has both "kill points" and "raw kills" on their main page, one under the other)
If this is asking for too much work, feel free to ignore it, but I think these features would take this board from "good" to "incredible".

These are all very nice suggestions but... i'm not going to add them.
The insurance does make a difference but you have the problem of logging what type of insurance you have (gold, silver, plat, etc.) Way too complicated! Plus i think that when running a corp it's best to display the overall cost of losing a ship instead of an adjusted value after insurance. I feel this is best because it does indeed make losses look worse than they might be. This keeps people careful. You would be surprised the effect of a board like this has on the behaviour of a pirate corp. No one wants to be the one who has lost the most and no one wants the fail stamp on the losses page!
The loot collected from a lost ship is also not really relevant because when pirating you hardly ever collect stuff from your wreck after a loss, especially after being blobbed.
Also it was a conscious decision not to put kills or a points on the main page because pirating is all about stealing money and trying not to lose any of it. The losses are supposed to feel very harsh on this board and the isk on the front page is the friendly competition with your pirate m8s. At the moment i feel this board breeds the right kind of atmosphere in a pirate corp. It makes people want to kill and earn more and makes people not want to lose anything! True piracy.

Yes i am in my rights as i'm the only person contributing and giving away the code for free! I don't even need to give you any support! I am not bothered one iota if this board is used or not! I released my code to help people out especially others writing killboards. If you want to make changes to the code feel free, but you must respect the license.

People often dont use plat insurance and people hardly ever insure tech2 ships.
I visited your board and i think you are using old code or have only updated bits. Download the 'Ledger.zip' again and replace all files (except the 'class.database.php' file). You don't need to do anything to the database.

Also, several modules don't show up on the killboard: biggest issue is Balmer tracking disruptors.
For this reason especially, it would be great if there was a "view original killmail" button... __
