Disclaimer - I don't expect nor care wether CCP reads this. This is for my own understanding. I am younger then the original discussion.
Was thinking about buying game time with isk mechanics (most pilots over six months old no longer pay CCP in real money) - which is my first point 1). Why in hell would a company do that to themselves ?
I then thought "ok, must grind 330m isk ...must grind..must ...must buy bot .. bot ..bot.." which is my second point .
2). Is it only me or did anyone else see this encouraging bots ?
I then checked the top ten isk sellers and as i expected the safest one was also the highest priced one - so i used that price to do my math.
For 1 month or 3 month subscription it is cheaper to buy isk from a RMTer, at 6 months CCP has the best deal unless you get lucky with one of the poorer rep isk sellers. And use that isk to buy game time. Which brings me to point 3.
3) Did anyone see this as encouraging RMTers ?
I'm sure there must be a basic flaw in my thinking - enlighten me as to how it really works for the good of the game and CCP.
Cause right now i'm convinced the idea was a bad one. |

most pilots over 6 months old don't pay with real money?
If you buy a plex from in game.. somehow someone had to pay money to make that plex. so they aren't losing?
only if you use an illegal source of isk. |

Nope only people that are lazy.

IF it sounds to good to be true then it probably is.

Why do you feel that botting is the only way to generate 330m to pay for the plex? Once you get started in this game, you'll find that its quite easy to generate 330m in a month. Some players even do it in a few hours. |

You're doing it wrong.
There are two ways you can buy a house. One is to get a loan, mortgage it and live in it. You then have the job of finding the money to pay the mortgage. The second way is to get a loan, mortgage the house and rent it out. You then only have the job of filling in the difference between rental income and mortgage repayments. Even better, the interest on the mortgage counts as a deduction against your income, as do all expenses associated with maintaining that property.
There are many ways you can make ISK in EVE online. Some of them involve buying a ship and performing some activity in order to earn the ISK to pay for your game time. A better option would be to set up a structure where someone else is paying your game time and all you have to do is manage them. You then only have the job of filling in the difference between ___ income and PLEX payments.
Look for things you can do to get other people to give you money, and look for people who will give you money for doing those things. This is the way you make RL money, and it works just fine in game too.
Oh, and a lesson CCP has learned: never underestimate how rich other players are. |
