Point was, and is, the Caldari are not fascists.
Considering the multitudes of aspects the Caldari State seems to have (most of which have been discussed here), I agree with this point. HOWEVER, and many people argue about the US this way, some of those aspects are fascist. In my view, there is no clear definition of Fascism and thus the phrase "XYZ is Fascism" is kind of in applicable. It would rather be "XYZ shows aspects of fascism ideology" - and that's all it is. Fascism is NOT a form of state, society or government, it's an ideology, with many aspects in itself.
You might as well argue that Italy under Mussolini or the 3rd Reich WERE fascism, in its purest form. I don't think thats applicable here either, those two societies merely were the first to incorporate certain aspects (which they didn't INVENT either, they just combined them), such as glorification of the Military (which has a far greater importance in the US today than it had in Italy, or even Germany!). Is the Military glorified among Caldari?
I don't think comparing the US with the Caldari is valid either. Fundamentally, the Americans love Freedom (which is why they tolerate stuff like Scientology - Freedom of Religion). But by trying to defend it as hard as they can, they diminished it instead. As Benjamin Franklin said, those who sacrifice (civil) liberty in order to attain security (OF the liberty) deserve neither and lose both. The Caldari on the other way, love POWER, which is represented by money, and thus economic domination. Deriving from the Japanese culture, Caldari also have a strong feeling about honor, which makes them respect each other, and makes them accept their form of state. In a nutshell, theyre just too tunnel-visioned onto power that they don't see what has happened to their society (just as Americans don't recognize what the tunnel-vision on liberty has made of their society, either).
The Rule of Corporations is something that would derive from total capitalism (eg a future vision of the US), combined with the Totalitarian ideals of Fascism AND (interstingly) the tolerance of liberalism.
