Pretty sure I read that a thanny can solo the sites with a lot of difficulty but it was a couple of years ago so my memory is hazy. You can not 2 man C5 sites with efficiency.
Whilest not strictly 2 man (you'd need a gang boosting alt) and not cheap theres probably some crazy pimp energy chaining marauder setup that can do it with just 2 marauders with decent dps/range, neut resistance and tanking.

Cheers, FW
Properly fit non-triage chimera (tho I'd advise fitting triage as it gives you an edge if jumped) can deal with a 6x guardian escalation fine - worst come to worst the tengus might have to throw you the odd rep but properly fit you should be tank ~3K out of the ~3.75k dps incoming and have plenty of buffer to last til enough guardians have died assuming they go for you and not one of the tengus.
I'd reccomend using a hybrid (not hybrid weapons) PVP/PVE RR tengu fit then if a small gang jumps you, you have a chance to atleast take some of them with you or even win if they underestimated you.
EDIT: Fit something like this should work and not too costly.
[Chimera, c5 site chimera] Beta Reactor Control: Capacitor Power Relay I Beta Reactor Control: Capacitor Power Relay I Beta Reactor Control: Capacitor Power Relay I Beta Reactor Control: Capacitor Power Relay I
Capital Shield Booster I Shield Boost Amplifier II Adaptive Invulnerability Field II Adaptive Invulnerability Field II EM Ward Field II Sensor Booster II, Scan Resolution Script Cap Recharger II
Capital Shield Transporter I Capital Shield Transporter I Capital Energy Transfer Array I Sisters Core Probe Launcher, Core Scanner Probe I Triage Module I
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Ideally you'd want to farm out probing to a support ship and likewise moving the sebo to a remote sensor boosting ship* so you can reuse the mid for more cap should you need to triage but it should manage C5 escalations fine out of triage aslong as your not epically slow killing the BS - the chimera can use fighters or drop sentries to speed up the killing process this way.
* In non-triage you might need the sebo to lock smaller ships like rapier/huginn, etc. quickly if they are primaried too quickly on landing in the site. |

Yeah rorquals don't trigger an escalation.
However they are a little bit risky using in a normal C5 - we used to use them in a C5 pulsar so that moros + huginn/loki + rorqual was possible its a fairly quick method for small numbers tho not the quickest (but less messing about you can get straight in and shooting stuff).
You have to remember tho that the rorqual is no carrier - ostensibly it needs a fair bit of pimp to make it work like this - if your a bit ballsy you can probably get away with a T2 fit in a normal system but even in a pulsar I found it a lot more comfortable with some expense put on it.
You can unfortunatly see the fit we used to use here:
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=13259698
(I was not in the rorqual at the time of this happening).
3x capital RR is only needed if people insist on using lightly tanked webbing ships :| a decent fit loki/huggin will tank fine with 2x capital RR and rarely be shot at at all if it stays the opposite side of the dread/rorqual to the sleepers.
Its more efficent once you get it right tho to warp the moros at 200-300km to spawn the guardians, warp out, use a zephyr to find the middle of the guardian spawn and warp the moros alone to that spot and kill them all while they have no transversal.
The other good use for rorquals fit like this tho is bailing out ships when the escalation goes wrong as they won't escalate further and you can spider chain up some decent energy/shield repping.
EDIT:
Quote: [Rorqual, escalation] True Sansha Capacitor Power Relay True Sansha Capacitor Power Relay True Sansha Capacitor Power Relay
Capital Neutron Saturation Injector I Shield Boost Amplifier II Adaptive Invulnerability Field II Adaptive Invulnerability Field II EM Ward Field II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
Capital Shield Transporter I Capital Shield Transporter I Capital Energy Transfer Array I [empty high slot] [empty high slot] [empty high slot]
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Thats basically the barebones of the fit then adjust to taste - siege links highly reccomended plus the rorqual gets some good drone bonuses so a decent drone link mod doesn't go amiss to make good use of the possibilties with sentries, etc. at the end of the day tho it isn't a carrier and if you try to treat it like one things will probably end badly. |

Whilest the carrier can easily weather 12x guardians if properly fit the same can't be said for a sieged dread - often both waves won't primary the same ship but if both waves do go all out neuting + dps on the dread its a pretty sticky situation where they can quite realistically kill it.
12x guardians is roughly the equivalent of a well fit bhaalgorn neut wise and you have 7401.6 dps incoming to tank - any slowdown in killing them off will quite likely result in the loss of the dread with the knock on effect that the carrier will then be stuck tanking them until bailed out.
Hathrul wrote: though i can see how a rorqual can be used i dont see any advantage over a carrier. it does the same job, probably well enough, but it doesnt escalate the site, which is your main income from c5/6 anoms. so why would you ever use one?
Its not to avoid escalations - its to make them more manageable and faster with small numbers online if you want to just get straight in and shooting stuff without paying too much attention/making warpin points, etc. and/or if your not confident enough to crash in with carrier + dread first. |

Yeah if everything goes to plan and you get right on doing it with people who are semi competent. Not much room for error tho if things don't go quite right or people go afk/dc/incompetent at the wrong time.
