I've noticed that CCP has gone really soft on Noobs.
They get accelerated skill training, 2 neural remaps & more free SP than any of what the vets originally started with.
Surely the guys who have been in the game longer than a year should get a yearly loyality bonus from CCP. They are the ones who shaped Eve & made it what it is today not a load of Noobs with practically zero input & plenty of time to adjust to an Eve with is now Eden compared with when the vets started long ago.
Mind you- we did get a shuttle- er but the noobs got that as well!
Comeon CCP- The vets want some love too.

That's not true. Depending on how old they are, 'vets' started with 10k-310k SP (before Revelations) or 800k SP (after Revelations). New players now start with almost nothing and instead they get accelerated skill training. They do not get "more free SP".

What about a permanent advantage in total skill points, which newer players never can catch up with?

You can ask for more social additions. Like pink tutus.
Vets always have a skill point advantage. A mere 800k difference at best makes you feel outclassed?

Back in my day we couldn't afford hats, we could barely afford heads. You could buy a head on market, but they hadn't released the skill book for it yet. Also, we wore onions on our belts, yellow ones though, you understand, because of the war effort.

I've been playing on and off (mostly on) for about 4 years now and I still don't think we deserve to get some kind of boost for having stayed on. EVE isn't about the 'endgame' like other MMOs, its about constantly aiming to get somewhere, and only being restricted by yourself, not by arbitrary boundaries like 'levels' and 'race'. If there's ships and training speeds which are only unlocked after a year's play, well, I think that'll just hurt the whole experience.
You've got more money, friends and skillpoints than any new player will for at least a year or two. Give it a rest.
EDIT: for clarity, this is a new character I started to get a fresh start with a RL friend of mine.

What do veterans get? How about you get to continue to play in a populated new eden instead of the ghost town that would result from a game that could be(but is largely not) tremendously unfriendly to new players.

Hey Ham its good to see you are still floating around m8e. And doing better than me as I am pretty sure I dont have enough just yet - lol
Back to the OP - I have to agree with the general feeling that us "vets" dont deserve to get something handed to us on a plate for nothing - Is it too much to ask for a Birthday Card once a year though

This. A traditional problem with skill-based games is that the gap between new positions and veteran positions steadily widens. The new player finally gets his shiny new BS and finds he is still hopelessly outclassed because everyone he meets has invested a year or so in maxing out their skills and has faction outfitting.
BTW, I have a couple of extra vet hats. Just send your color preference and 1b while the supply lasts.

I disagree though. I don't find the gap that wide at all. A veteran character has some advantages, but "hopelessly outclassed" is not how I would describe a new character. In terms of PvP, experience and smart thinking count for more than skills trained. It is the same way in any skill-based game, and newbies have just as good of chance at succeeding as veterans.

Yup,almost 6 years old and still here....That was a popular request in the first year that the server went live(2003),but it's a shame that even after all this time, the jove only serve for background story and nothing more.

Uh, that permanent "advantage" was paid for from subscription fees.
Older Vets have got less for their money then new players. That is a simple fact. New players have been given more "free" SP and a buff to training time. Older players have not yet we pay the same 15 bucks you do. I dont necessarily care that much, but newer players saying "vets were given an advantage" are simply ignorant, or lieing.

Indeed,i started this very char with only 8000 skill points and flying the basic frigate, and took nearly 4 weeks of training and making isk before i was flying my first cruiser(vexor),and then another 4 months playing several hours a day before getting into my first battleship.
There were no atribute implants,no level 4 missions,no mining barges or even battleship NPC spawns in 0.0 for that matter, heck not even T2 mining lasers or T2 BPO's earning billions,or invention.
Isk was way harder to make and skills took a hell of a lot longer to train,so any newer player still *****ing that Vet's have it easy now is absolutely right, but we had it way worse in the early days,as there no comparison possible how much easier EVE is overall.
EVE in the early days was hard core, plain and simple.
