Very interesting that another former wow vet posted right before myself. I could no longer deal with the low IQ teens that swarm there.
Anyways I looking for a corp that could use someone that seems to always enjoy the sometimes undesirable spot of supporting others in their endeavors, especially a large group. I'm heading into mining right now but once I'm comfortable with that I will be upgrading my skills in Industry. I am very new to Eve, and by that I mean like a week from install till now. But I'm catching on and could use some help in my progression. Remember that quote from Jerry Maguire "Help me help you"....that's kinda how I think.
So if you're looking for a sense of humor, a desire to help others and wanting to help the corp achieve it's goals....I'm your guy. If you're just looking for a robot to press a few keys now and then and stay out of everyones way & ears....I'll pass.

Hey Taelic, Good too hear you like industry. So do we. We've got a good little crew here in Lonetrek. :) We're looking for miners/industrialists that want to grow into the game. Yes, starting "small", but then getting into all the aspects of the areas my corp does: like production, invention and pos-management for moon-mining in 0.0.
We don't take everyone. If you know that you're a social player that don't like to play MMO's by yourself, you're welcome to come check us out in the "FeralSol" channel ingame. You can also read more about us in our recruitment thread on this forum.

Edited by: Kiroho Calda on 16/04/2009 15:28:55 Tealic - You should check out Hadean Drive Yards. We've been a corp since Beta and we're still going strong. I was recently appointed as the Commanding Officer of the Logistics Division (most things not pew-pew) and I can state with conviction that this is the best bunch of capsuleers you'll find in EVE.
If you're looking for Hi-Sec or Null-Sec mining, we have regular operations that will keep you happy and I've also seen our Military Division playing hunt and kill down in Null-Sec (we have agreements with the locals) to keep the more aggressive members happy. And we even have guys that have started exploring the new Wormholes for fun and profit.
Here's our recruitment post

New Eden Regimental Navy is looking for a few good pilots to come join us in high sec operations.
Currently we run missions and do mining operations out of the Badi area and are looking to head low sec in 4-6 months at most.
Corp offers Orca supported mining ops, pay system for miners/haulers, support for missioner in the way of fleets and modules.
We also have an active alliance known as the Rebel Alliance of New Eden (RANE) and a corp/alliance website located here: NERN Portal which contains our corp pay system for miners, forums, and teamspeak server information, additionally we have private wiki and a live news feed for corp/alliance events.
Here is a little Q&A:
Where is your HQ, and which systems do you usually mine in?
We are currently working out the Badi area out in Khanid region; we have corp offices located in Ashi as the office prices in Badi got really stupid.
How long are your ops, and about how much m3 do you mine per op?
Op length with vary depending on how people feel. As an orca pilot too it gets really boring sitting there providing bonus' and just pulling cans in. But average op length is 4 hrs.
How do you distribute earnings after an op is over, particularly if I was using an orca?
If you noticed on the homepage there is a link there called mining. This takes you to an application that is known as mining buddy. This application allows for an even distribution of the ore obtained during a give corp op. Your portion of earnings is determined by the amount of time in the operation and the type of ship that you are in to provide a weighted payout as a way to encourage people to get into better miners, Orca is weighted the same as a mining barge at this point which means you are getting 50% more then someone say mining in a frigate.
Mining buddy works off of raw ore as well to give the corp a little better profit margin.
Ore prices are set by the CEO's of the alliance and are usually 25% below the highest sale order on the market so that selling us raw ore is worth it. Additionally we have an invoicing system that has been setup to allow miners who are doing work on there own a way to sell to the corp.
Do you manufacture at all or are the minerals just sold directly to stations?
We are getting ready to jump into production; we currently have a standing order with an alliance corp for a certain amount of minerals per week. This helps to give us a steady income as well as items up on the market.
Do you do any mission running?
We do run missions, we are trying to get our Khanid standings up high enough to allow use to do a high sec pos. We have a small wing of strict missioners at this point that like to fleet up and go pew pew, but all members will run missions. Cause let's be honest it gets really old mining all the damned time.
How old is the corp and do you think it will be around for a while? Most of the mining corps I've joined closed almost instantly, or within a month. :(
New Eden Regimental Navy is over a year old. The leadership staff is too stubborn to give it up. At one point we had three active members but maintained and started profiting. Now we are seeking to grow again in a controlled fashion getting everyone to know each other prior to bringing in a bunch of new people.
Do you mine in wormholes, hidden belts or low sec, or do you plan on doing it eventually?
We will mine anything we can. We are currently looking into gaining some low sec access. We just did a Alliance op to wormholes for salvage purposes and would love to get someone that is good at scanning hidden belts out again.
Additionally we try to listen to what our people suggest. If you see something that you think needs to be fixed we are more then happy to address the issue with you to make our corp stronger.
Thanks,
Nelios Ran Chef Executive Officer New Eden Regimental Navy Member of Rebel Alliance of New Eden

Wow, I didn't realize the sheer number of corps out there. Thank you for all the responses and I will be talking to as many of you that I can.
Don't mean to sound pompous in this statement but I think I should better explain what I am looking for in order not to waste your time on someone who is not what you are looking for:
I am a very assistance oriented person, I work in a support environment at a large tech company in the silicon valley and lead my off time along the same premise. Helping others is how I enjoy my time on MMO's. Unfortunately WoW is so....well....young that this often gets taken advantage of.
Like I stated earlier I am currently heading towards mining and then to industry but pvp of any kind holds interest to me as well. I admit I am very, very new and need to learn a lot in the way of game mechanics before I am viable to assist in almost anything. But I am the type that doesn't mind running the Orca on a mining op, or scouting prior to a fleet advance, etc. Not to mention I crack jokes whenever I can.
Figured I should tell you about the pilot you would be recruiting rather than the SP/skills/etc. because, well there is nothing worth speaking about.....yet.
Ambitious is a great trait when you have it, but not so thrilling when your ex does.

Edited by: Nelios Ran on 16/04/2009 16:37:30 You still sound like someone that would like to have in my corp. We are very group oriented and have some sort of op almost every night. Be it mining or missioning.
I am currently at work at a help desk for a large aerospace company. So I can be reached via this forum or the NERN one on our corp website. Thanks!

Edited by: rcs619 on 16/04/2009 16:43:19 Well, if you don't mind a smaller corporation, you might want to look us up at the Hotter than Phyre Syndicate. We are still a fairly new, and fairly small corporation based in Caldari highsec. We are trying to gather loyal, competant people around us to help build this corporation into something great. We mainly run level IV and III missions, but we mine as well, and could always use someone who enjoys that aspect of EVE. Someone has to mine, and make things for the corp to use.
We tend to be fairly easy going, and friendly. So, if you dont mind a small, but tight-knit group of people...and you're willing to jump into a corporation that is still in its infancy, and help to build it from essentially the ground up, by all means get in touch with me via EVEmail or something. We do plan to move into lowsec once we get the numbers and wealth, but at this point we're taking things at a slow, cautious pace. A dedicated miner/industrialist is a great asset to any corporation.

Just thought I'd add to my response a bit, about your points. :)

Yes, that's good, because Eve is a game where you need to have teeth, or you will be taken advantage of. Particularly if you join us, and then move out to 0.0 you will get the opportunity to fight others because let's face it, when enemies come calling we need to defend what's ours.

I don't really care about your skillpoints, because you can have 50m of them and still be completely useless to a corp. I'd rather have a 1 m sp member that contributes to the corp and to the other members than a 50m sp character that feels he's so above the rest of us that he goes off doing his own thing under our umbrella. Team play, that's what we want. We want the 1m sp members to be and feel as useful as the high sp members.
We are pretty focused as a corp, but we still do not think of our playtime as a second job. If you don't have fun, you will quit playing and we will lose you anyway. Real life comes first. :)
How that deepens your understanding of us.
