It looks like the game is forcing v-sync.

Well if Eve IS forcing 'interval one' on people then thats a GOOD thing.
Too many people who play are not interested in the settings etc and found the whole 'interval immediate' overheating their cards and rebooting of their comp a very scary experience. So if CCP have made interval one as default I for one salute them.

Edited by: Trista Rotnor on 16/04/2009 18:30:53 I messed with the intervals like Chemso did. It was set to "Interval Default" by default, I changed it down to "Interval One" which boosted my fps from 40-45 and very choppy to 60fps and smooth. I then set it to "Interval Immediate" and got my 300+fps back and no choppiness. So vsync is the culprit.

Advance options
Default in EVE is now "Interval Default", which refers to driver default. Set it to immediate for "off" or just set it to "always off" in your drivers. --- Grez: I shot the sheriff Kalazar: But I could not lock the Deputy BECAUSE OF FALCON |

Any idea where to set it in the drivers for a GTX 260 and / or a 8800 GTS ?
The settings in EVE do not seem to change anything here.

i found my fps beeing all over the place as well, actually im getting a fps boost when im beeing shot by angel bs, but only as long as their turret 'trails' remain visible, when they are gone, eveything is back to normal... vice versa for torpedos... when i get hit by a torp, the fps drops for as long as the explosion lasts...
the curios part is, both is only happening when there arent any kind of structures in my pov... when i look at an accel gate, a silo or something else (doesnt matter), the fps stay constant in both cases...

The nvidia control panel has the option at the bottom to force it off, but when I did that it didn't take even after a restart. Are you sure you changed the present interval settings, it should work.

Alright, so "Interval Default" is the cause of this, at least with my client.
I forced Vsync off in my Control Panel and I still had a bit of lag. But once I changed Interval Immediate it was good, but read something about that causing issues with cards so I changed the "Present Interval" to "Interval One" the lag was gone as well and is good I guess.
So yeah thanks all for the ideas.
