Hey all, I have been wondering which race I should cross-train to. Here are my current skills:
http://eve-sheet.com/skills/Sin_Cleaner
Once I am able to fly a Curse/Pilgrim well, and also an Interceptor, I plan to cross-train. I want to do this to just have a little bit of variety in my ships that I fly and because ratting Guristas in 0.0 is pretty crappy in an Apocalypse. Basically I will PvP in my Amarr ships and PvE in my other race's ships.
I was thinking Caldari would be a good choice because of their use of missiles. The Sacrilege and Damnation could benefit from that. Also, if I ever choose to hop into a Nightmare I could with ease. But then training towards Gallente could be a bit easier because they armor tank and I could use better Drone skills with my current Amarr ships. I have great Gunnery support skills too, wouldn't want that to go to waste :).
Hopefully I will get some helpful advice that will lead me to the right direction, thank you!

Caldari. Shield and missile skills will help your amarr ships. Plus Nightmare as you said.
Training Gallente would be alot into drones which won't be that useful for amarr ships.

I prefer the Amarr/Caldari ships with a few Minmatar T2 cruisers just for low sec arrgh

Erm ... Arbi, Curse, Pilgrim, Geddon ... Droneskills are very important on alot of Amarr ships tbh.
For the OP: for PvE i'd say Caldari.

Just a different point of view to mix things up a bit, Ammar and Gallente both use armour tanking in a lot of their ships. As you said earlier, as an Ammar player, you have pretty good armour tanking skills already. If so, would it not be faster to just cross-train for drones (making it a playable race more quickly) rather than training for both missiles AND shields?
The crux of the arguement? The Ishtar is the sex!

Gallente IMO. Both armor tank, same gunnery support skills so all you need are the specific ones, drones are far more useful to Amarr (arby, curse, pilgrim, battleships in general) than missiles (sacrilege pretty much, damnation doesn't need dps). You also get an array of ships that add much needed variety: two great T1 cruiser choices (something amarr lacks), versatile HAC (also something amarr lacks), more roaming/throwaway ship choices in general, and so on.
On the other hand, if you like expensive stuff, cross training Caldari will net you the awesome Nightmare and Phantasm.
For PvE, Amarr will do basically everything, but if you want to rat Guristas, Gallente are fine for that.

Caldari, because of the Nightmare. Also, it really helps round your character out: Shields + Armor + Gunnery + Drones (+ Missiles). You'd almost be ready to fly Minmatar. ;-)

You about summed it up. Gallente is much less sp intensive, but, cal/amarr means access to sansha and khanid, which are some of the best ships in the game.
Make the choice based on that. Domi and raven are both great ratters. I would go gallente in your place for the synergy (I wish I was amarr/gallente cross rather than caldari/amarr cross, but, I started caldari so what can you do), but, its your call.
