What is the max standing you can get with an agent?
If the agent starts repeating missions, should you quit them?

max is 10.0 but it takes a bit of an effort to reach that as as you get closer to 10 you get a proportionally less amount of standing gain per mission.
Missions repeat, thats the way they work. The missions in EVE are not really a fully developed aspect of the game as they were really added as a means to make the ISK needed to replace PvP ship losses. Over time many people started playing and only running missions, so CCP has slowly been changing them, but overall they are still fairly simple and monotonous. <-------------------------------------------------> "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." -Albert Einstein |

So what did people do in EVE before missions were useful for money? combat wise?

Lots of things! Weave baskets, twiddle our thumbs and darn socks. Anything for pocket change. Oh the things we would do!

Back in my day we used to walk up hill both ways in the snow just to mine Veldspar, and we liked it!
