since CCP is in the mood of tweaking ships I wondered about my fav BS and wondered(once again) what could remplace the silly dual weaps bonus on the typhoon without being a copy/paste of another minnie BS and still stay in line with the minmatar line of ship.
ok enough chit chat heres what I came with :
7.5% target painter effectiveness and optimal range per minmatar BS lvl
the reasoning behind this is 1) tp is minmatar EW
2)tp help all type of weapons system
3) there is allready a frig and a cruiser with painter
bonus in the minmatar line
so? stupid? brillant ? something in the middle?
feel free to show me where /if I said something stupid
PS the 7.5% are not the result of heavy math .. I just used the numbers CCP gave to the bellicose and vigil

Thank you for posting this and bringing it to everyone's attention. It has been a long time since any has considered the long forgotten Typhoon. For far too long this ship has been completely overlooked. It is without a doubt the most underutilized, under powered Battleship in the game. I don't even know why there are any on the market anymore, because there is no one willing to fly these slow, weak, fragile coffins masquerading as battleships. You breathe new life into what was a dying and forgotten dream. Thank you

first, i didn't think phoon was so terrible for a tier 1 bs.
anyway, i think only caldari dragged their ewar over into their BS' and thats probably only because they're a bit gimped from the get go. so dunno about your point #3.
point #2, lots of things help you kill stuff, doesn't mean they deserve a bonus by default.
point #1, yes sir its true. but like 2, just because its there doesn't mean its earnt a bonus.
now the debating for debating's sake is over, painters on phoon would make sense.

typhoon is pretty alright compared to other tier 1 bs like scorpion, domi and geddon.
In my opinion problem is with large autocannons in general. Damage output just isn't even nearly as great when comparing to medium and small or other large size turrets. If large autocannons were carefully adjusted (not going overboard like always doh?) to have somewhat better damage all minmatar battleships were much more lucrative.
