In Germany for instance ... Dynamic is not the same as random. CCP will not only ban single IP addresses, but they are banning entire subnets. This is not stupid. It is common practise, you only did not know it yet.
In case of a an ISP a "subnet" might be an /8 or /16 which - again - is borderline stupid. Besides, if you want to identify a group of IP addresses that belong to a certain entity you don't use "subnets" (that is an end user term describing how network segments are defined _internally_) you use an AS (autonomous system).
But i guess you did not know that yet. |

Erad Stomper wrote:If you can't play without a VPN in China it's not CCP fault it's the chinese government fault and everything your government do is accepted by the chinese people so if you want more freedom on the internet you should ask your government not CCP.
If you want more freedom go in the street and ask your government for it.
If you feel everything is OK in China then shut up and play a boring chinese game.
Yeah, we know how well that worked out the last time anyone tried. What with tanks and guns and all sorts of other nonsense. Actually, given that, it's almost hard to believe people would voice an opinion over a ban.
Strictly speaking, I can't say I have an opinion about this, but I do understand that CCP is obviously unlikely to be banning all accounts associated with a specific VPN ID, or there would be more bans, or just less players managing to trial and or get an account. If they can get in through that VPN, then it is likely this is not how CCP is processing these bans.
That means they are either very legitimate, or some players are getting caught in the crossfire by associating with RMTs. A couple million ISK transfer is no reason for a ban in and of itself, but transferring deadspace loot in space is, as is any number of other things that is done specifically by RMT.
tl;dr: Don't associate with RMT, and earn your way up like everybody else. Western players don't just hand out any amount of ISK in most cases. Status quo is: You want it, you earn it; or essentially so in any case.
I have helped players in Corp with me as part of a training and enticement offer, but I've not done the same for many others. In fact, I've only ever really done that in one case, but it was very limited and only because he was inexperienced but a friend of a friend and a kid.
Technically speaking, he was supposed to pay me back but he kept losing ships and it took him a long time to adapt to the game. Eventually, he just tried to scam the loots out of me while he stockpiled inventory, tried to steal from the corp, and made efforts to get me to give him ISK in other ways. It was tolerated for the most part but never entertained after that.
Frankly it wasn't a big deal, but the point is I don't see anything that may seem to mirror RMT activities there. That kind of activity shouldn't result in plkayers being banned, and if it did-as someone already mentioned-we wouldn't have that many players at all. Of course, this was all before Team Security and CCP Screegs really started cracking down and working out their anti-botting measures and combating RMT.
I'm not sure how those activities would have registered in light of the new system, but I don't think it would really be any different. Maybe a flag pop-up now and then because of an ISK transfer, but otherwise not likely to cause an alarm. RMT typically do their business by other means and in much higher quantities as far as I know.
Either way, I'm glad for Team Security and all the anti-RMT measures and efforts to stop botting that are being done now. It might be that players screw up the game well enough on their own with market domination attempts like Burn Jita and Hulkageddon, but at least they are legitimate attempts to wreck the market and reap profit in game, rather than some guy or group of people with most likely criminal affiliations trying to profit out of game from game related activities.
That's just the way it is. No system is perfect, but at least they are trying. Chances are, they got it down to a fine science by now and occaisionally have little burps and hiccups in the process where undeserving people get banned.
Of course, unless you are an RMT, the ban is temporary in most cases as far as I know, so you have your chance to stop affiliating yourself with those individuals and play the game properly. It's a good chance they are just trying to recruit fartmers anyway, and if you are a farmer, you are an RMT, and we all know what they deserve.
Maybe not as culpable, but still a cog in the wheel that runs round and tramples all us regular players in the process of ruining our game. Alliance Auction - EVE Rogues: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1215438#post1215438 |

On behalf of the western country people with some civility and education, I welcome our Chinese players to EvE.
Sadly some CCP GMs are known to be very strict and fast in their action and give very little chances to try prove your points.
I suggest you and your friends file a petition to CCP in advance about asking what you could do to avoid getting banned over nonsense.
You should explain your forced need to share the same VPN and ask if there are ways to prove you are not involved in RMT.
You should also save your logs so you can prove you did nothing wrong. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Very astute, you're not far from the truth
But as offensive as my comment may sound, there's no denying it's truth. Some Russians in EVE actually do get paid with free Vodka in exchange for farming/botting.
Now picture the scenario. China suddenly drops all it's firewalls giving unrestricted web access. Now with more web users than the western countries combined, (500+ million currently) Tranquillity's Chinese users would easily outnumber the rest of us overnight.
Without doubt this would inevitably drive out western players. And we'd just be left with Russians and Chinese trying to squeeze out one last Dollar from the remaining population. |

Tell you what, people in China actually have free access to TQ with no censorship or whatever nonsense at all. The Chinese government may be crazy but its not crazy enough to censor some internet space ship game. Some dudes in China use VPN simply because there's just too many ppl use internet during night time and it gets really laggy in EVE. It's a fact, believe it or not. Oh, and to make you feel better, EVE is not eve a popular game in China, while the chinese server was still operate, it normally has around 4000-6000 player at peak time. So don't worry if they all decide to come here. As for you comment, I doubt CCP agrees with it. Some RMT dudes may be Chinese, but most Chinese players are still paying real good money to CCP, either through their chinese business partner Tian CIty, or directly from subscribers at TQ. It's chinese money but it is money nevertheless, and it helps this game keep running and even get beeter. Remember, no one says no to money. |

I always wonder, is there any concrete proof that certain GM had to submit before banning people?
Giviing money is not a proof, at least in my opinion. Accusers have to provide envidences that support their accusations, simple. But at least according to the OP, some GMs does not follow that.
BTW, I'm glad that we Chinese are so famous for gaming skill that some people do FEAR even just a handful of us huh?
Even though I just play on TQ for fun sicne Serenity is down and I'm still in the US, I do think CCP should seriously revise the procedures.
Also, I hope this is not a racial discrimination issue but just GMs banning people and some happens to be chinese. |

Besides VPN, deadspace loot is one other thing that often gets people banned. I've heard about people got banned for picking up the loot in a trail account. I've seen paid account got banned because a rich tengu friend invited him into a 4/10 complex , and share with him half the loot money. Today one player reported that his paid main got banned as his trail alt warp into a deadspace for the first time. This is just getting ridiculous. Where would you go if suddenly you need to start anew, alone, but with all the frigate class ship experience your current game-play gave you, and a ton of free time? Minning in an industrial for less than 1M per hour?
Dude, no one takes a new player flying a burst and gives them half of their deadpsace loot drop. Why would anyone do this? Deadspace loot is involved in the RMT trade. I won't go into it but deaspace loot is recycled by RMT operations and is easily traced. Dude, your friends are RMTer's, gave you an extremely bad lie about what they did, and you bought it hook, line and sinker. Dude, get a clue.
Dude, I wouldn't name names but because I was there when they met and I've seen their private chat log, so I can give you more detail about that transaction.
The tengu owner who found that complex is one with admirable farming and pvp skill. He started his farming accounts only 6 month ago(named after members of a US ex-first family, You'll know them when you see them in local), and brought his 35B -10 sec 100M SP PVP toon last month without selling one single plex(He sold his tengu to a contractor friend just to get that last billion before the day of transfer though). I just received one of his show-off kill mail 5 seconds ago, so I'm pretty sure he's still alive and kicking, and not banned for RMT.
He didn't find that 4/10 complex because he was not at the system, his poor friend did and called him there. And the loot was a Pithium C type medium shield booster. So the tengu guy, in no lack of isk(in his new toon), decided to share some of that(145M, less than half) with the poor new guy. I'm pretty sure they had the detailed explanation in the description of that transaction because I saw them discussed about it in length. And the new guy still got banned.
I don't see any logic in this. First, it takes two to RMT, but the banned guy found himself to be the only one victim here. Second, farming on trail Alt to support the main was against EULA I know, but I don't see how giving isk to a new guy can harm the game in any way. And third. It's obviously wrong to ban someone just because he's new and has some isk when he did nothing against EULA. CCP should ban him if that isk is sold or on sale, but not before that.
