Without cross-training I am really starting to run out of skills to train. I have done some long-haul skills and recently finished AWU V. Could someone take a look over and tell me if I am missing something drastic.

you seem to be pretty well of. i would recommend training learning, before you do anything else. that is, if you are considering cross-training, specializing, or changing career.

There are still Rank 1-3 skills you could up to 5, multitasking could be nice to get, too. AND I can't believe you did 25m SP with 4/3 learning skills....

Various drone skills: differnet races, all drone support skills to 5.
Learning to 5/4
Heavy Assault ships to 5.
If your missioning get your social skills up.
Controlled bursts 5
And like said before get everything you ever use to 4.

Edited by: Xiozor on 20/04/2009 11:05:59 Me? A carebear? Nah, I made a training plan a long time ago, and according to that, those skills set to what they are were the fastest way to get there.
Right now I am just looking for ways to improve in PvP, most of what I do is mercenary work so will probably remain sub-capital. Since theres apparently nothing glaringly obvious I am missing I will probably train up multi-tasking, some learnings and HAC V and then start cross-training other weapon systems and races, unless I am missing something? ----------------------------------------------- Mr.Kippling just launched a nuclear holocaust at third world countries! ... Definitely get the Rank 1 learning skills to V, and the rank 3 learning skills to IV at least. It's top priority. (Do the Rank 3's first, they're faster usually). 25m SP with only those learning skills, ugh... Anyway, that should keep you busy for a while.
After that you can look into Destroyers V, Battlecruisers V, Recon Ships, Covert Ops, Warp Drive Operation V, Armor Compensations V, all Railgun Specs IV, Energy Grid Upgrades V, Propulsion Jamming V, Long Range Targeting V, Multitasking, Cloaking IV, Sentry Drone Interfacing V, Drone Navigation V, Drone Sharpshooting V, Drone Durability IV/V, Combat Drone Operation V, Amarr/Caldari/Minmatar Drone Specialization IV. There's also a lot of skills you don't even have yet (browse market to see).
Really though, you're far from 'running out of skills to train'. ______________________________

Edited by: Alchemise on 21/04/2009 22:06:04 Hey Xiozor, you haven't been in my pub channel for a while =)
People oft say there is ALWAYS things to train, and flout their superior skill points and their own training plan. But everyone trains for different things.
I know most of your skills already, you have got some seriously good gunnery skills. I still have all my gunnery spec skills to 4 and most my gunnery support skills to 4 and I'm more than happy with it.
The problem is when you reach about 20MSP or so, you really need to make a decision. With 20MSP you can just about fly all sub BS ts ships, and large t2 weapons etc with a fair competency. Anywho you can either head off to capitals, cross train races or refuse to buy anymore skillbooks and just train everything you can find to lv5.
And it is easy to think you are running out of things to train; not because there literally aren't any more, but there aren't many skills left you would conisder a decent use of your training time.
It really depends on what you do in game. I know you like your mercing, which quite often is very small number engagements with very expensieve ships. The difference bewteen Large Blaster Specialization 4 to 5 could well be the clincher. I usually end up flying in small/medium gangs and having to bring whatever ship is missing from the fleet, which is where flying all races comes into its element.
Baahhhh, its a tricky one.
My advice would be to train for caps, or cross train HAC/Recons. Once you have made the deicison and you stick to it, it becomes alot easier to work out what to train for. I madeup a plan to for HAC/RECON 5 and all associated weapons and drones T2 for all races that seems to last forever.
And don't listen to the them about low learning skills =) I have a smidging over 1 MSP in learning. FTW! Like a little kid, I just go straight for the shiny toys. |

You sir, have won EVE.
In all seriousness, isn't EVE coming out with new skills all the time? Glancing over, I didn't happen to see any subsystem skills for Tech 3 ships, perhaps that will catch your fancy? (Pardon if you already have the skills)

Keep in mind there are aa ton of skills not worth training to lvl 5,especially when it comes to high ranking specialisation skills, where the bonus is only 2% per level and takes weeks of training....The boost is insignificant in practical terms.
I'm going on 103 million skill points myself and i might have maybe another 15~20 million skill points to train up of skills that are actually worth taking to lvl 5.

This comes back and bite you in the ass later again. 20mil was a mark, definately. I had the same feeling when I hit 40 tbh, by then all t2 related skills were lv4-5 for me as well, with some dabbling into caps.
It's the cycle of life-thing in EVE. It's what you said.. at some point you have to make a decision. Get the lv5's that add very little (like gunnery specializations), or move on to something else (caps, crosstrain, non-combat skills, etc).
Learning should definately be 5/4 tho, I'm sitting at 5/5 x2 and 5/4 x2 atm and bit annoyed I havn't picked up the last 5's on the two other accounts yet. - This space for rent |

For drones: All the specializations to lvl 5 especially Minmatar Combat drone operation V Drone Navigation IV Sentry Drone Interfacing V they're fun
Electronics: Cloaking IV Propulsion Jamming V E-War IV- Ewar Drones Frequency Modulation Long Distance Jamming Sensor Linking Signal Suppresion I was assuming you'd use the recons eventually
good engineering/gunnery, shield compensations if you'll use them Controlled Bursts V
finish up them learning skills
Mechanic: everyone underestimates these skills if you rig your ships. If you use armor rigs/shield rigs/ whatever it doesn't matter. Get that skill to lvl IV to reduce the penalty. Large sig radius or slower ships is a pretty nasty penalty Armor Comps IV Nanite Operation
Warp Drive Operation V is useful indeed. The more cap you have when you get to the target the better
Thermodynamics IV at least! Better scanning skills?
Then finish up the skills to V for whatever ships you find yourself flying
I'd post more when I get home but tbh I won't remember to ;P

For carebears who never leave hi-sec capitals are simply not an option, well except for freghters, and we all know how much fun those are to fly.
