Originally by: mittanifap The vast majority of newbies join the game and begin trying to make money in Empire, usually through mining veldspar or running level one missions. I did this myself when I switched from playing WoW to EVE; I was given an Osprey cruiser and mined Kernite in Empire for a couple of weeks, and then I was finally able to afford a battlecruiser - which I promptly fit mining lasers on and began the tedious process all over again. I was bored silly after a month or so and quit.
My favorite paragraph. Too bad they didn't have a soap box oratory skill for you to train back then. Maybe you would have stuck around instead of quitting?
So what brought you back and held your attention long enough to stick around the second time mittens?

We should twitter about how great it is to be a goon. A goon twitter group that could maybe beat the Ashton Kutcher/CNN challenge. Tweat about how much money goons could save just getting rid of game subs and just rping the thing.

Ahhh.. An Audience.
KK it all fits into place now. It wasn't really the lack of things to do that left you wanting more but the lack of spectators to witness it. Well it seems you have found your niche now so gratz and keep enjoying Eve on your own terms.

This seems to include out of game entities like a certain mmo review web site too. Wonder if they even have a clue?

You didn't mention much of anything in that cryptic post, it's not a big mental leap to conclude you were referring to pay for writing articles. I assume then you're just referring to slipping pro-goon propaganda past them?

To be quite honest, if you scam in game, then you are a bad person out of game. The connection is quite clear.

Excellent article, which should be widely quoted at all the "never catch up" idiots.

To be honest, if you're scammed in game, then you're a dumb person out of game. The connection is even clearer.

I guess I should post to say I agree that the articles are well written so far and for someone totally new to Eve it makes it sound like a fun place to hang out in. It's just there is so much Moar that can be read from between the lines by players who have been around since the beggining that is the real amusement to me.

The Mittani is a loser. So lazy that he/she advocates scamming for every noob.
You can play solo, make a lot of Isk, and have a great time.
Tentonhammer has its collective head up its fundamental orifice for thinking that article is worth re-publishing as a feature. The background story may be of some of some interest, but in general comes across as another self-absorbed, thumb-sucking adolescent needing instant gratification for his MMO's.
He quits after a month or so of mining, how uncreative in Eve can you get?

You have no idea who mittens is, do you?
also, scamming takes 100x less time than mission running, or ratting for a comparable amount of isk. I know of very few other ways to make 10b+ in less than an hour
