So I have been flying around with our very small corp in lo-sec shooting everything we can find. Recently I noticed a increase the in the amount of baiters. What I mean by baiters is they fly a target in to the system rat through the belts, then when engaged jump the 39 other people in system and proceed to the bait ship.
Now this usually dosnet work out to well for them. When we noticed the spike in local we tend to gtfo. Upon reviewing the corps I tend to notice this is being done by mostly empire corps and a couple of "pirate" corps. I use the term "pirate" with sarcasm for these people even though they say the are "pirates".
I was wondering if any one in this fine forum has noticed the increase in this crappy tactic? If so, please reply with the usual see and pee goodness that we all have come to love. Flamers and Trolls are also welcome in this topic.

What Lana said.
I guess with more people playing the game each week, it's going to increase eventually. Not sure if I'd call it a crappy tactic.
Pretty sure eventually we'll see more Black Ops and Bombers cyno-ing in. The Black Ops still need a bit more of a boost though imho for their price.

I personally think its a crappy tactic. Its because I like the hunt before the kill.

Well how about hunting then and not just grabbing the first fat target you see in a belt?

I am not saying it happens all the time. I just have noticed an increase in the amount of master baiters in low sec.

No hot dropping or logonski? Amateurs.
FWIW, a 3x plate neutdomi is a wonderful bait ship. Puts up a convincing ratting performance and can tackle two juicy targets long enough for the blob to arrive. I'm surprised people insist on using passive Drakes for bait duty when a clearly superior platform exists. |

May be superior but also more expensive, I would go for the dommy too though, I hate drakes |

i find this funny....
When a care bear complains about how he got ganked...all the pirates or pirate wannabes all laugh and say..."suck it up...get used to it...eve is not fair...etc..etc..."
BUT...let a self proclaimed pirate get ambushed and now its officially a "crappy tactic"
That is too much...fricking hipocrites...

I don't think there was an increase. Baiting was always used successfully and will always be.
When you're roaming around with a fleet, do you really wait until you encounter another fleet of exactly the same size and composition to have a fair engagement? Do you really leave the 3 men gang alone, because they would either run from your entire fleet or you would be forced to use 'crappy tactics' yourself? Or are you proposing them a fair 3v3 against ships of their choice??
I've been baited many times, sometimes I got ganked, sometimes I made it out alive - and of course I also like to use the good old bait trick to get kills myself...

if it would be a crappy tactic you wouldn't be whining here about it..
tactics are tended to work.. and since you suffer from this tactic.. means it work..
peace..

I think you just won the internets. Almost as good as spending an entire day griefing, flipping and trashing, then some guy removes my post and tells me to respect others, err hang on this whole game is about disrespect and abuse, where would be the fun in blowing someones ship up if you hadn't just wasted all the hours they put into acquiring it? Not to mention its a whole lot cheaper than my Lithium prescription.

Getting people to engage on your terms tbh.
It seems people will so rarely engage a fleet of equal size (god forbid a larger one) that tricking them into fighting at all in situations other than this (hell even when they have the advantage) is half the battle- they have to think they can win.
Putting together a 10 man gang (9 falcons 1 BS lol!!!11) to break a 15 man gatecamp, then having your targets scarper is just annoying. Secretly MirrorGod. Apparently

What's sad is there will eventually crop up a professional corp of people who have perfected this tactic, and they will be named The Master Baiters. Spreading hate and discontent in a galaxy near you. |

Well I prefer this tactic to logon traps, but its not great. At least most bait is obvious like a old player ratting in a drake or battleship.

You are ridiculous! You gank people all day then cry carebear tears over having your fun spoiled by the big meanies.
I ask you to look at yourself for a minute. How is you getting ganked any worse than when you find some helpless miner, hauler or anybody who isnt looking or ready for a fight?
That kind of hypocrisy is twice as pathetic coming from a supposed bad assed pirate ganker than from high sec people like myself. I could care less if you think I'm a carebear for mining, trading and mission running in high sec. I come to C&P to lick up some delicious tears and you Sir, DELIVER!

Griefer tears are the most delicious tears in EVE tbh. The number of times I've been griefed far exceeds yours cry fest here, and yet you won't find me calling griefing a 'crappy tactic'. It's EVE, get used to it.
