Pardon my ignorance, but what good is the skill injection? Before we had skill injection, if we wanted to "inject" a skill, we could start training to level 1, then immediately "inject" another skill by repeating with another skillbook. I thought that we would be able to inject a skill regardless of whether we could train it yet or not, but I tried and no luck. So, if I'm finishing training a prereq in an hour, and I want to start a new skill, I can't unless I'm logged in. I can't inject the skill prior to being able to train it and therefore can't queue it up. So, I still wind up transporting skill books around the universe waiting for a prereq to finish. Did gaining skill injection accomplish anything that I'm missing?

Only advantage I can see is that you don't end up with 1 point in the skill. This means it won't show up as a partialy trained skill.

The only advantage is that you don't have to go through the "train → pause → train something else" rigamarole just to pick up a new skill, which comes in handy with the new skill queue. Now, you can just inject a whole bunch of books without worring about what you're currently training, and then set up a queue to do the new skills at some later point.
Fewer mouseclicks, that's all, but at times it's a handy thing to have. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

This. It makes a difference since you don't have to pause your current training. Also the injected skill will not be partialy trained.

We should just accept that sometimes the slight hill for people in wheelchairs or the lift was built for convenience - not because it was impossible to get it done otherwise.

Makes it easier than to do the "pause" thingie... Also that you can inject them at once instead of carry the skill books around which might be troublesome for several pilots... Rawr! |

I don't suppose it would make sense to make it able to inject any skill, regardless of prereqs...
Can you see any downside to this?

I wish I could do this, currently I'm looking at moving into 0.0 and I don't wish to do that with the books I'm carrying around with me.
But being you don't train any of the skill points I don't see why injecting a skill couldn't be allowed other than reprogramming the code to make sure you can't train a skill you don't have the prereqs for.

The only downside I can see is that it opens up a can of worm for exploiting potential (eventual) training queue bugs whereby you somehow manage to inject and start training some heavily pre-req'ed skill without ever actually training all the things before it.

Yup. So is being able to save fittings. Who uses that ****?
I also think you should have to solve a Sudoku puzzle before you can undock from station.

Seeing as how I can just click a button and have the game fit my ships for me as long as I have the mods in my hangar, uh, me! ------------------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of war" - Plato |
