yea, enemy ravens had real nice bounty, like 1.2M or so. But what can I do about it when I need 15 min to kill one of them while all of the others are shooting at me. Blah.
It was really bad experience seeing my Raven almost destroyed cuz of damn scramble/jam. very stressful.

how many times do I have to say that I actually wanted that bounty. If I wanted just reward and LP I would have collected it without making this thread and asking stuff.

Then next time you get the mission, fit better.
3 Kinetic hardeners = LOL @ Guristas. Their thermal damage is trivial

Well, you might have said it once and we'd have know, but you didn't say it once, so we didn't know.
Tauranon explained to you that you could take a quick ship through the gate, you didn't respond.
I tried telling you how to do the mission by killing the rats quickly with high-DPS weapons, you responded that you thought it was impossible and went on with the thread.
KISOGOKU told you to use cap boosters to free up some fitting space from rechargers/flux coils to help your fit for this harder mission.
Zaqar pointed out that your resists weren't high enough.
Terminus Vindicus also said your fit wasn't good enough.
All you had to say about all this was that 'even with max skills you can't kill the BS fast enough' and continued to try to find some magic way of doing the mission without actually listening to any of the advice people were giving you.
Terminus Vindicus said you should use EFT to optimize your fit, and get the best gear you could afford. All you had to say about it was that you were too poor for T2 stuff.
MIRAMIRA reiterated my point that you had to use high DPS to kill the BS before the next wave came, you again ignored it.
Seeing a pattern yet?
The mission is meant to be rushed through, only moderate-high SP characters with good fits are able to actually fight it solo, as it presents some of the tougher NPC BS and the waves are timed, not triggered. The guristas version is just all the harder due to jamming. You don't meet the criteria to take this mission on, you simply can't do it... so blitz it.
Quit whining that you can't do this though (if you fight) L4 mission due to a lack of SP/isk for modules while in the same breath whining that it's unfair that you would be expected to have a 'combat oriented character' or be able to afford a fit suitable for L4 missions.
Also, it has come to my attention that I'm really in need of a proper signature. |

Recon 1/3 isn't that hard.
Just kill the hacs first cause they do their ewar tricks on ya. Oh and keep moving it'll reduce some damage.
But as there has been pointed out in this thread already you should have your resists up over 80% if you wanna do this mish solo.
I did the serpentis and blood raider versions and the ewar you get with those is sensor damping (serps) and weapon optimal disruption (bloods).
Serps version is the most annoying I think...having to relock your targets a few times is no fun.
Had no problems in this mission with a abaddon or domi or nightmare.
Well maybe once in my nightmare...but that's cause I has inv fields fitted instead of em/therm vs bloods

I have said this a number of times in this forum & have been flamed for it- you cant fly battleships with low skills & expect to be uber-it just ain't going to happen.
Just because you can climb into a ship does not mean you can use it adequately or expect to keep it. The arguement has been proved so many times both in mission running & PVP. A good battleship pilot has 10 million SP in the ship, shields, weapons & engineering & that just scratches the surface IMO.
By all means run level 4's in your ship & skill up but on many occassions expect to fly home in a pod.

Ohh, and the higher the bounty on an NPC, the harder to kill it. 1.2 mill bounty means you need firepower.

I didnt know that I actually have to say it directly (perhaps with CAPS LOCK) that I WANTED THE BOUNTY. I thought it was quite obvious since my first post. So I will repeat - if I wanted just the reward and LP, I wouldnt have even made this thread, and even if I did make it anyway, I would have certainly made some comments like "oh **** I totally forgot that I can fly it through as fast as possible and I also have never seen the description for blitzing it in mission reports", etc.
I hope u get what I mean.

Saying that doesn't mean I'm willing to work for it. What everone has said thus far is...the trick to this mission is:
Use a proper load out, and fly it well.
To do that you will need a skills and mods that give you the best. If you only have 10m sp total and are not combat focused. Then blitzing it is the only "solo" option. "wanting the bounties won't give you the tank or gank you need for this mission.....you'll need more than "I wants" to do it.

Recon is given out fairly often so no, you will not be more skilled and prepared next time.
Also...1 1.2M bounty BS is equal to 2 600k bounty BSes, money wise, but with less time needed to kill them.
Why get stuck on this mission...you'll lose your raven and your drake since your skills aren't up to par.
One last word of advice: If you, in your present state, get Enemies Abound chain, please decline mission #5. Not sure if you can even get it flying for Caldari...just a heads up.

Actually, considering all of this, I'm almost certain now that I will take a path in industry and specialize myself there.
My character is of merchant family anyway, which means that my perception and willpower are lowest, and I have most SP in Trade, Industry, and Corp Mngmnt skills.
And I was actually planning to get into some good corp just when I am able to do L4. So I think that it would be best for me to specialize my industry skillz further and get accepted in some good industry corp. If you know any, (possibly located not far from Jita), let me now.
It seems to me that it will be the best way to go. Screw guristas and raiders and stuff.

1. This is what neural remapping is for. Don't like your stats? Remap them to increase perception/mem and train skills that make things go boom.
2. Guristas aren't the only faction to kill. I find missioning for Amarr to be much more profitable and painless. No EW to deal with and salvage sells for more.

if by good skills/equipment you mean somewhere between 3 and 5million sp (depending on race and level of specialization), and a meta4/t2 fit then yes. however to say that is not designed to be done solo is a bit premature and foolish.

Here's how I fly Recon (1 of 3): run in with speed tanked Drake or Slasher, work on killing the tackler frigates ASAP. Just keep speed tanking until all four spawns have arrived. Domi pilot comes in, launches sentries, sets them to guard or assist the Drake.
This mission is trivially easy if you have a partner.
My Raven certainly stays in the hangar for this mission!

I remember running level 4 Recon 1/3 in my mostly T2 fit Vexor (cruiser) and killing all the ships for the bounties. I was at about 10 million sp at the time, with about half in non-combat skills, actually less than 4 million combat if you count covert ops V as non-combat.
Note that I wouldn't actually recommend doing this as it took forever and I'm pretty sure I dipped into structure a couple of times.
I couldn't fight through Recon 2/3, the incoming damage was just too great.
I was too chicken to try 3/3 in the Vexor, so bought a Domi and that cruised through it. Is it my imagination of is the final wave really wussy in the level 4 version? It seemed much stronger compared to the ships that you were flying in the level 3 (or was it level 2) version.

In the release notes of Exodus the devs stated this about level 4 agents: "Their missions usually require a group of pilots to solve within the given timeframe, but reward accordingly to all participants."
So who is the fool here?
Ohh and I did not say that they can't be soloed, I've been doing that in a Raven since my toon was 2 months old.

Little secret: The devs usually have no idea what new content that they introduce to the game does or how it's going to be interacted with.
Though, at the time there were no rigs, so individual ships often had significantly less ease tanking.

Just use a proper tank
on a raven just dont try to perma run it its not needed...
put on yours meds x-large booster,booster amplifier and 2 hardeners of each rat specific
on lows: just put a BCU, damage mod and PDUs it will have preety good resistances up to 80%

They were obviously talking about the newest addition to the L4s - Humble Beginnings. Warp in - the poor guy seems to just pop out of sheer fright. And that's a level 4 mission
Back to Recon - those big bad BSs only do Kin - tank agains it and you're set to tank 6 of them. Yes, six, in total. Not "waves and waves". In fact those Dire cruisers do more damage and are way more annoying since they do Thermal (in addition to Kin) and jam. I just get there and kill the cruisers first ignoring frigs (they do no damage to speak of) and BSs (ditto with the right tank). Once you can count 6 BSs present and correct (all there is in this mission) - release the drones and concentrate on BSs... Granted, I do not have 10M SPs but next time I get recon I'll get a T1 raven out to see what the fuss is about...
