...... and then *poof* he's gone.
No, i didn't get my first PvP kill, after 4 weeks of chasing people around - when i finally had a kill in my grasp, he logged.
How can this happen that a ship in the middle of combat just vanishes when you disconnect? do we just pull the cat-5 out the back every time we are about to die?
hurrumpf.

Need to kill him quicker. Good try though.

If you're not running with the pack, you're prey . . . |

Further adding to my point that pirating is far too difficult.

Isnt this a bug? as i remember scrambling a ship and the player logged, their ship tried to warp but obviously couldnt as it was scrambled, the player who owned the ship even came to look at it with a alt. We held it there for quite some time. ------------------------------------------------- Defend Amarr space, join the Auctoritan Syndicate today |

Its annoying, and ccp's logs always show bugger all, youll get the old message back saying that they MUST have had a problem and tried to relog or something, we got a ship kill but the pod vanished, so we waited, luckily he came back after a small 5-10mins wait expecting us to be gone, well, we didnt and he got podded, corp wars are nearly impossible/pointless.
So are safespotting targets youve popped, they sit in egg at safespot, we spent 35minutes locating his position, eventually found him, and he simply warps off to another spot in a heartbeat, tbh chasing people down is a long drawn out and immensly pointless set of events, well get you another time waywatcher ;) __________________________________________

i dont care if people want to log off during combat - but a SCRAMBLED SHIP SHOULD NOT WARP AWAY
what's the effing point if people can just disconnect? |

i have a cunning plan how about a bit of RP from those camping gates? i appeared got scrambled and was in the center of a damn big missile swarm in about 5 seconds, then go podded without even a "DIE imperialistic pig, or anything" i was a bit miffed bout the podding but it would have been a little bit better with perhaps a little banter from the rats, just MHO. just possibly it may cause people to stick around a bit, you know web someone and demand ransom, toll whatever, but just blowing people away is pointless if you want to do that there are plenty of NPC ships you can do that to. bit of banter ladies gents makes a possible death so much more entertaining.

well if it warped away when he logged you didnt have enough warp scrambling strength on him (ie. he had 1 or more WCS fitted)

Corrrect me if I'm wrong, but if you "log out" isn't you ship stuck where it is for a minimum amount of time? and if you CTD or suddenly disconnect your ship will randomwarp to a point on the map. Was this not done to help ship loss due to network latency / CTD issues? I do understand your frustration, but like many before me have said.. that's the way it is. You can't have everything, those who want to do the "cheapTrick" to try to avoid destruction can. Those that want to fight and / or die with honour will do so. CCP shows no interest whatsoever in beefing up it's logging ability so unless you want a "blanket" solution this is life in Eve for now. Don't forget that same tactic will work for you as well... so would a blanket "log nerf". I'd be interested to see how many "UberPlayer Killers" cry foul when they can't disco from the game to save themselves the very fate that they try to inflict on others. Ah well... May the Farce Be With You... |
