I have checked already for a pve fit but theres only a thread about a pvp setup in the ships section.
I will have sentry drone interfacing 5 in a week or so. Ill be getting an ishtar this week, does anyone have a good setup for these? I can use a few faction mods but nothing too fancy and i have good drone skills?
Do i just fit 1 gun to get aggro? Any help much appreciated.

fit depends on type of rat mainly. gurista/serpentis: best to use a passive shield tank (resist amps + shield extenders/SPR2's) Sanshas/bloods: best to use an active armor tank. Angels: Passive i believe.

Edited by: killerbitsch on 27/04/2009 10:30:56 my afk ishtar setup is (use only in hisec!)
lo:
2x med rep II 1x EANM 2x mission spec hardener II
mid:
1x AB II 4x cap rech
hi:
2x trac beam 2x salvager 1x any small gun for aggro
rigs: up to you, mine has 2x CCC, but it's not really needed, but don't wanna waste them so i keep them there
drones:
5x mission spec sentry IIs 5x garde II's (for close encounters) 5x mission spec med IIs 5x mission spec small IIs
the above setup stays cap stable under the toughest fire, and can tank out whatever you may face in lv4s, your ship will only pop if you lack proper aggro-management
you can also build faster kill one by changing cap rechargers for target painter IIs and/or omni target link and using drone rigs. you can also use drone link aug, but that case you'll also need some sort of sensor boosting, as ishtar targets for like 72km max (if remember well), while drone control range is 65, so the +20km might be just a waster of fit.
you may also try to put on blasters and use heavy drones instead of the sentries, and may work well, but never tested. for fast killing i use domi instead, ishtar is for safe (semi-afk) missioning for cases like i have guests, so i can do whatever i want, just have to have a small glance at the mission every 2-3 minutes.
edit: that's true that you have to keep an eye on mission NPCs, because if you fight neuting/nosing rats, this active setup may pop easily. i forgot about this, as mostly amarr friendly npc factions use heavy neuts in lv4 gallente missions, and i always skip them due to my poor amar standings. but in those cases passive shield tank will work nicely.

I use something pretty similiar, only I use a single True Sansha Medium Repper with auxilary nano rigs. I filled the highs with railguns for a little extra DPS. Unfortunately I'm at my work computer and I don't remember the fit exactly, but whether you use one fancy repper, or two, as long you keep the AB running, you'll dodge most everything (and missiles will do laughable damage). Yeah, it's a bit hands on but it's a lot of fun to use. Sure the Domi does lvl 4s better and is a bit more hands off, but the speed tanking Ishtar is just more enjoyable to play with. If you're running missions against mostly kinetic/thermal damage types then you can really get loose with the config and drop a mag stab in the lows just for kicks. Gardes really shine with the Ishtar since you can get right in to the middle of the fray, drop your sentries and orbit all the damage away. Never did care for using them even with omnis on the Domi though.
I tend to do speed grinding with a buddy who also flies a HAC, hence the highs full of rails, but I have flown it solo and it still handles great. I even use a slightly beefier tanked version for WHing. ---------------------------------------- *****es don't know 'bout my nano'd Titan ---------------------------------------- |

Great stuff folks thanks for the help that sets me on the right path, forgot about 72km range though so ill give it a go and if its a pain ill try a domi.

Easiest setup in the world:
Highs: Anything you want. Salvagers/tractors for me
Mids: 3x passive shield resistance amplifiers 2x Large Shield Extenders
Lows: 5x Shield power relays
Rigs: 1x sentry damage 1x shield recharge
You will afk tank any lvl 4, unless ofcourse you're being shot at by EM damage then you need to move around and watch your location ofcourse. But that's easy enough done since it's very quick and agile as a shield tanker :)
