Originally by: Irdia Freelancer If you run a support char, you basically have 2 agents in any station. Get a bad mission, reject it or get another with 2nd char. You need to get generally 3 missions to reject in a 4 hour period before it will interrupt your missioning. I haven't had that yet. I have had 2 low sec missions (outside constelation) in a row, but not yet 3.
If one doesn't value the LP then one may be rejecting profitable missions for no more reason than not knowing LP has value. Take courier missions which are considered low return. A courier mission is generally about 800-1600 lp (lvl 5 skills) with about 3-500k reward/bonus. Typically a courier mission will average about 3 jumps (for the 800 LP) although will get many much less. Take a 3 jump average and its about 1 min/jump and dock. 3 jump courier mission and your back in 8 minutes ready to take the next mission. Convert the lp (3500 is what I'm converting at for over last 2 mil LP) 800 * 3500 = 2.8 mil, add reward/bonus of 0.35 mil = 3.15 mil in 8 min. Convert to 60 min and your looking over 20 mil/hour runing courier missions. Courier missiosn dont pay that well, and yet to me they can still average over 20 mil/hour per char (main + support) in high sec. If value the LP at 0, then 350k reward/bonus of above in 8 minutes = 2.6 mil/hour hence people consider them not worth doing. 2.6 mil/hour vs over 20 mil/hour - Thats a huge error by ignoring LP.
The value of LP is in many cases very high. Often choosing to blitz is the quickest way to make isk as it allows you to collect lp faster. Even if your like me and have low skilled T1 ships blitzing is very profitable.
Can take missions with bounties which people value. Eg the other day I did the Assault - bltized. I took 13 minutes to undock/warp/jumpgate shoot 1 group of ships (2 Guristas battleships) with my low skills/warp back/dock/hand in mission. For this I collected 5900 LP. I collected 2.2 mil in reward/bonuses and bounties were 1.9 mil. Now I could have collected all the bounties/looted salavaged the empty battleship wrecks. But how well did I do in this mission by blitzing? 5900 * 3500 = 20.6 mil + reward/bonus/bounties 4.1 = 24.7 mil in 13 min = 114 mil/hr for a relatively low skilled blitz. I did use my support char so if want per char is 57 mil/hour and most of that was LP. At 0 value for LP the same blitz is only 4.1 mil in 13 min or almost 9.5 mil/hr per char. Ignoring LP is a huge error in calculating your isk/hour. Not all missions can be blitzed like the assault, but this illustrates how a blitz can pay extremely well, and yet not so well if ignore the LP.
Good LP returns come from choosing a lp product that converts at a good rate. If your selling to buy orders you can make more isk. It takes a little more effort but it pays. Find better places to sell and you will sell at premium prices vs rock-bottom. The difference between 2000 isk/lp and 3500 isk/lp is often just where someone choses to sell.
I hear that selling stuff takes effort. I presume players haven't heard of 'trading' while they are warping. Warping is waiting time anyway. If your in combat with an npc, and the npc ship lasts for 20 secs, thats almost 20 secs you can use to find/update your trading orders. Contracts can be created anywhere in Eve, ie dont even need to be in the region.
The main difference between claims is how people measure. If you value LP at 0 vs 3500 as shown above. I hear that 3500 unrealistic yet I have coverted over 2 mil LP at above this rate.
Advice for players: - Keep on shooting the bounties and taking long times to complete missions, as your helping prop up my LP, and my isk/hr.
and much thanks to Min and Gal players for paying premium prices above what Caldari and Amarrs will pay for my LP purchased products
Yah, I reckon those 5 run amarr navy eanm bpcs are pretty lucrative, especially selling the end product out in somewhere like Rens
