RL has it's ups and downs for everyone. Whilst my gametime will reduce realistically short of death it's impossible to have no time to log in or at least have someone else wrap things up.
I always thought that was a major cop out for people doing it (Fury, Ionia, MasterTAO, etc) and as far as I am concerned a scam. If you are quitting eve how hard is it to grab someone who's email address, msn etc you know (from ingame) and just give them your user info. Sure it's against the EULA but you are quitting Eve so the account is worthless to you.
I probably have about 50 people on MSN I could do this with if things got too tough (not that I would, I mean an absolute worst case effort if I didn't even want to open the eve client) which is why I think anyone using the "didn't have time to liquidate/close etc" is basically a scammer or someone who couldn't give a damn about those who put their trust in them.
I would probably say this same thing if I were a scammer though but it stands true and has been the case for the past 3 years, if I can't handle it I make sure someone else does.
This bond really is incredibly low maintenance though. I just forked out 1 billion on 6+ months of fuel and major defences and have my Orca setup with freight cans (in stn) for each month of fuel so it's a simple "grab that can" for refuelling if time is short.
Good to see you back in Eve Shadarle, I expected my % return would be too low for you anyway tbh. |

Well said ric.. If you cant atleast manage to get your acountinfo to someone who can liquidate its just a poor excuse for a scam.... How hard can it be? idd...

Must admit Its the perfect parental leave project idea. Might have been useful to have back when I got my number two.
I can grab 5 atm, maybe more if I dont need the liquidity later on.

You need to withdraw from EBANK like normal. This is entirely separate venture. Researching Duchess doesn't have an EBANK account and it would be pain in ass for tracking that way anyway. |

Unfortunately I think this misses the underlying reasons the person doesn't log back in. It's not that the person doesn't have the time or that they couldn't resolve the situation if they wanted to. It's the once you stop playing EVE as much you tend to spend time on other things. These other things become more important to you. All of a sudden you just don't log in for a day or two, then it becomes a week, then a month and you keep thinking "oh, I should log into EVE." But honestly by this point you just don't care anymore.
This is a concept that is very hard to understand until you've been there. And that's the answer as to where I went. Of course I had no one who I owed money to, so perhaps it made it easier to fade away. Not arguing it isn't lame for people to do it if they run an IPO, but the point is you just don't care about EVE anymore, it's a game and you're doing more important things.

Honestly, I could handle 3% currently as I really am not spending much time managing my money. I'm using no more than 1/10th of my idle ISK, not to mention selling off lots of my un-used assets which make up a far greater amount of my wealth. But the main thing stopping me is my aversion to Titan copying. I doubt others have a similar aversion as mine partially stems from my ability to do it myself if I wanted to.

Originally by: Shadarle As much as I'd love a place to put a chunk of my idle ISK... and as much fun as it would be to fund this entire project myself... I've always believed Titan copying is not a good long term investment idea. It may be fine currently but I fear for its long term viability.
I'm sure because its ricdic there will be lots jumping on this... but considering my own several month absences due to RL I am also very hesitant to invest in someone else who is getting busy with RL. It's VERY easy to just slip away and not come back... even though you are sure you won't just weeks or days before it happens.
Only reason Im investing is because there is some mitigation for this through the ability of director votes to elect a new CEO for either continuation of the program or liquidation. |

Expansion is available on 1st September XXX buys 50 bonds @ 100m each
This is a bad idea. People buying on May 31 would be entitled to an entire month interest.
You should change this and use a prorated interest approach where Monthly interest = Amount invested * (Daily Interest Rate) ^ days invested. Daily Interest Rate = 1.03 ^ (1/30)

I am closing this bond due to RL issues. May sound a bit ironic after assuring everyone it wouldn't be an issue however in the past 48 hours a LOT has changed well beyond what could have been expected.
Some would probably be smartasses after hearing this so I will state why. Our unborn child (due in 1 month) has been diagnosed with a Diaphragmatic Hernia. Anyone reading that article should understand that this (depending on severity) is likely to take up a lot of time so I really don't want to commit to this project.
I will send all received funds back shortly after downtime. Anyone wanting to adopt the business plan etc for their own operation is welcome to do so.
Thanks guys, Ricdic

Well wishes Ric, if its any consolation I just had a cousin whose daughter had this. 2 years later she's doing great and you wouldn't even know it based on how severe they (doctors) thought it was going to be. |

Dude, after my daughter was born 9 weeks early, I can understand your concern here. Anyone who blasts you for your adjustment of priorities has no clue, as something like this is something that noone can plan for. My prayers go with you.

Take care of yourself and your family Ricdic, I hope it all works out well.
If I was religious you would be in my prayers, but since I'm not I'll dispatch a flunky to the nearest shrine to scatter some incense or somesuch in the hope that it brings health and prosperity to you and yours.
