Hey there OOP,
I have recently had cravings to play some future based games. E.g Space combat fighter sims like freespace and so on. I was wondering if any one here has some reccomendations for me to try and track down? |

Sim is the top on my list. Rts and any space based RPG's are second.
I have a copy of I-War 2...however everytime i try and use it, the keyboard set up never seems to work, and nothing i try seems to correct it. Zoom Zoom |

Dear god that game was fun. For the longest time I named any character I made Ory'Hara after that.

Oh man I need to play that game now so thanks for reminding me.
Try out this mod for the skirmish mode as it unlocks lots of stuff the devs wanted to put in the game but didn't and some outright cool changes to boot. Checkout the database tools too as they are easy to use and lets you change nearly every variable for the maps, ships, other structures and such. One of the first things I did was to reduce the unit cap of every ship by half for terrans plus triple the ammo for the corvettes anti-fighter laser and then greatly reduce the mantis shiva carriers cost cap and build time to 1/3 thier original level. OMG the wormhole gatecamp battles that made eve fleet combat look small.
Look for the Masakari mod v1.2.4 in the middle of the screen. It also works with all versions of conquest past the 1.2 update. http://freenet-homepage.de/christianhermann.de/

I think my EvE addiction stemms back to the days of Frontier: Elite II - Just one of the singually most awesome games ever created. Same idea as EvE, only one player and with in-ship views for pew-pew goodness when in turret bays!
Long live the Amiga!

I've played X3TC for about 3 hours, so not nearly long enough to make a judgement.
I'm still on a fairly long-standing game of X3R with the XTM mod installled. If you've only played 'vanilla' X3R, its well worth a look. Some of the technologies available in XTM are a little overpowered however, so I find I have to regulate myself with them to keep things challenging.
