well..
it seems as a fair amount of us have gripes about risk vs rewards of hi sec lvl 4's...
not sure if the following is a good idea or not BUT....
how about we leave them agents in hi sec with a condition..
and that condition is, all agents in hi sec ( level's 1-4 ) only hand out missions vs apposing factions. NO bounty npc's AT ALL! only way to make isk is to collect tags and salvage as well as the mission payment.
only way to get access to missions with pirate factions as the mission objective is to goto low sec, or 0.0 in some cases. Agents that send you to low sec will not give missions with bounties. as the agent is based in hi sec.

So... basically eliminate all hisec missions... How about 'No'.
There are SO many other viable options for adding incentives for players to venture into losec to run missions! Why is the first knee-jerk reaction to take away missions from hisec?

I'm actually for this idea. Working for an empire should be against an empires enemies.
Course, in losec, I would sincerely like there to be actual pirate agents as well as empire agents. So that you could choose either side.

The issues people have with hi-sec missions is that there is little risk and high reward. Both of these are achieved largely by cherry-picking missions at hubs so that you only do the most cost-time efficient misisons, and avoid missions with low payouts or other undesireable features, such as faction hits for missions againt factional enemies.
I think a better solution is to remove or diminish the cherry picking. This can be accomplished by removing the "decline" mission option that can be used every 4 hours. People then would have the choice of doing a broader selection of missions or waiting out the 1 week offer timer at that agent, or acepting then failing, with a loss of standing.
Furthermore it adds some risk/downside to mission running, loss of standing with opposing factions for one, and tough/low-payout mission strings as another. It will be harder to avoid doing those missions, and adds a consequence to the career path of mission runner.

The only people that whine about 'risk Vs reward' lvl4 high sec mission runners are the jealous little muppets (got more isk then you have they?) who feel that the game should be played their way or not at all.
Well, for your info, people who pay their subs can play the game in any way they want. If they want to grind missions all day long let them. If they want to be waskerly piwates let them, if they want to be space holders, industrialists whatever, let them.
Stop fuking whining like babies about it.

I think what they are trying to do is whine so much that CCP will nerf missions. They think that it worked with nano, Falcon and what ever else.
Mind you I run missions... out of boredom not because I need the ISK and I feel sorry for anyone that runs it just for the ISK. There are activities that make much more ISK that are more risk free than lvl 4 missions.
If you want the carebears to come to low-sec leave them alone... they will get there on their own. You can only do so many missions before you start to wonder what else is left in the game.

are you that stupid? this game has over 20,000 users (very likely more like 40k+) and theres only what, 60 people? on the forums who have probably agreed with nerfing level 4 missions?
And out of those 60 I've seen maybe 5-6 decent suggestions for nerfs, unlike this garbage by the OP

What ****es me off about the players that make "suggestions" like these is they really, REALLY don't think of everything. Only the things from their point of view.
I just want to ask about one subsection of EVE's population. What about casual players? We're suddenly not allowed to make money, or are suddenly penalized because we don't have the same amount of time to login as you? Why should I give up the rewards I get for my limited playing time to satisfy your misguided sense of fairness? If I have an hour or so to spend online to wind down after work, I am stuck flying level 2 missions or level 3 missions, just I can salvage and collect tags, to make any money? Why stop at pulling bounties from missions, if your issue is risk versus reward? Remove them from all rats.
Or EVEN better, 0.0 life too hard for you? Piracy too hard for you? Not making enough money? What is it that truly upsets you about missions? Be honest.
MORE SHINY, PLEASE!!!

Leave it to the forum rabble to devise an unnecessarily convoluted solution.
Why don't you just lower the reward for hisec lvl 4 missions?
Or RAISE the reward for losec lvl 4 missions? The only reason people don't like losec missions is dealing with friggin pirates. Make it worth the danger and aggravation. |

Not really lady Aja, just point out the obvious...
Quote: did i threaten your almost fail proof isk making way of life?
I dont run missions to make isk, so a big fail on that one. Hell I can't even do level 4. I actually Rat in Null sec if you must know.
Quote: if idiots like you cannot take faction hits VS opposing factions then stop running missions
Just proves why your idea is crap tbh, 99% of people I know dont worry about faction standing, also if i TRUELY wanted to avoid faction hits I would be do hauling missions.
And why I'm an idiot for avoid faction hits? You dont like the fact I can move freely in empire? I could hide in a faction space so you couldn't get me (I.e gallente space)? I can haul stuff for people across empire? Or dont you like it? (Boo hoo, cry me a river, go back to WOW?)

The sad part is, the casual player will always suffer. Why? Because anything HE can do, some dead-set macro-grinding multi-boxing statistics counting 'know-every-single-step-to-perfection' player will do better, repeatedly, until the system breaks from exploitation.
It's not the casual player who causes the problem, but it's him who suffers from mechanics which have to be changed to prevent the other guy from breaking the bank.

What a godawful thread.
No we don't need more anti-faction missions or ways to lose standings. We're already all in a perpetual downward spiral of standings losses for killing NPCs as it is. There's truly no way to "fix" standings losses, all you can do is swap losses for gains through storylines or other special missions. The losses are almost always worse than the gains, and losses from failing missions or shooting rats is pure loss, no gain whatsoever.
For those of us who chose to stay on the good side of the empire factions at the expense of pirate factions? This would simply end mission running altogether.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

QFT. This idea fails.
IMO the best answer to the L4 gripes is to nerf the reprocessing of the drops. Bounties remain the same, people can still buy and trade the loot, but the mineral market will go back to normal.

Actually, at the moment, I don't have time to log in for more than a few minutes a day due to exams. Does that mean I should get a button that I can click to get a days worth of L4 mission earnings, because it's unfair for me to be left out? NO!

This would be a great way to cull out the carebears, and a great way to convince new players that they have to like PVP or being trapped in the section of the universe they start in.
Some players will not run an anti-faction mission. Period.
Oh, and one other thing that makes this most unlikely. how many anti-faction missions are there in the game as a percentage of what is offered? I think about maybe 1 in 30? so to do this, first off the devs would have to spend quite a bit of time creating new missions... fat chance. Either that or you have 6 agents all offering the same song all the time... Gee.. Enemies Abound again, big surprise.

As long as you talk about nerfing bounties and loot/salvage in any way, you haven't figured out where the problem really is. (If there is any at all - I don't think so.)
As long as you don't understand the topic, please stop posting.

The only thing that needs doing is enhancing low sec missions. Sending all L4s to lowsec wouldn't fix anything, it'd mean more newbie pirates (let's face it, they're pretty much 0.1-0.4 sec carebares themselves) trying to probe out deadspace, but not much at all.
The serious knock on would be a huge percentage of players quitting, it would crumble the economy (you wannabe pvpers think you have it hard already? lets see how much fun you have killing miners in .4 systems when replacement items cost 3x more than they do now)
At the end of the day, if you send L4s to low sec, the ones who don't quit will do L3s. The risk vs reward is moderate at the moment, best case scenario is 20-30 mil an hour with lots of knowledge, a 1bil isk ship and usually a salvage alt. Lose your rigged hurricane and your faction fit CNR to a gank and the risk FAR outweighs the reward pretty damn fast.
I fully support the bumping in reward of low sec missions, infact I think it's a necessity, but I don't actually think L4s are that easily in relative terms.

although I like it, doesn't make any sense to have an omnipotent concord that cant do crap about 1000s of Pirate rats running around in highsec all the time. now of course the Empire factions would be very intrested in patrolling their areas and taking out opposing empire factions

I've been a pvp'er, ive been a mission runner, industrialist, waskerly piwate, 0.0 space holder, mercenary etc etc.. theres not alot in this game I havent been since 2003. However, I wouldnt dream of telling anyone how to play this game EVER. What gets on my nerves is those who try to force everyone else to play it their way. Those whining muppets who complain about missioners in high sec - get them into low sec, nerf isk, nerf reprocessing yadda yadda, tend to be the ones who will insist that players do it their way or not at all. Well, fuk them. By calling me a bigot makes you a dumb fukwit too. I stress again .. I dont give a rats sh it what you do in the game. Really, I dont. But dont tell other players to do it your way, dont try to force nerfs on players who play the game their way, dont try to change the game because something in it doesnt suit you. People who pay their subs can play the game THEIR way, not yours (and by yours I mean every muppet who thinks people should do it their way). Thats the beauty of Eve, it allows for a whole myriad of options to spend your time in the game.
So, let the mission runners be. I dont get jealous about their isk, doesnt bother me at all. I dont get worked up about the minerals they get from reprocessing, the T1 modules they slap on the market etc. In the same vein, I'm not bothered about piwates, gankers, ninjas etc.
So, stop crying like a baby about the things that you dont like. Dont like it? Leave the game. . bye
