Originally by: gen2 Congrats Roc, this really is a great app. Haven't had much time to login to EVE lately, but I keep meaning to send a donation your way. Can't wait to see what goodies you'll add next.
Does the API allow for getting Corporation info? Looking at the Pilot Information screen was wondering if it'd be possible to click on the corp logo pic and get any type of info on the corporation, or does that require the advanced api info?
Thanks for the great app!
Now if we could just spin ships in hangar on our iPhones.....
You should come over to our forums. You will see that both of those things are on the plate for the app, as well as many other features.

Of course it was only a matter of time before some nerd would say this. I hate Apple and I dont have an Iphone but they are THE ****. What smart phone is better? Looks sleeker and has more functionality? There are a lot of clones but nothing quite as good as the Iphone yet. Get off the hating bandwagon...its not cool anymore.
I've messed with the 5800 and its definately NOT as good as the Iphone. No arguement there...its fact. Not to mention it had to be pulled back when it first came out cause of its ultra ****ty 3G reception.

There is no shortage of us, stupid people. Not only we buy iPhones, we also fly first class from Paris to Madrid, and drive BMW M6 where a smart car would be sufficient.
Yes its a shame so many people fall prey to some slick marketing genius that can get stupid rich people to buy overpriced toys whereas a smart rich person would just buy the smart car or some similar perfectly useful and stylish vehical and invest the savings so they can afford moar blow and hookers.
Ontopic: Nice ap though I don't have an iPhone.

The most used app I have. Full faction geek fit phone. Really terrific.
I was wondering, do the blogrollers get credit for views on the app? I saw ninveaeh reported his hits were directionally down around the time the app intro, when I started reading him (- and all of the bloggers actually. I was only following two or three previously.)
Sam and Roc, a truly fantastic job.

I have noticed my blog count has gone down as well. I don't think Capsuleer is responsible; it's just that time of year.
You do mention a good idea though. I will look into integrating some type of metrics, though I am not sure offhand just how exactly feasible that is.

Great app. Could have charged for it. I would have paid...
It is a little feature light right now, and quite honestly, if you can get more active functionality into it, I would pay. It is that good.

Originally by: Roc Wieler Well its official, as of April 28, 2009 we passed the 10,000 install mark. The past few days have just been a flurry of installs thanks to the ad being displayed in-game. I just want to say to every one, thanks for giving Capsuleer a try. The community is what keeps us doing this. And as a gift back to you the community I offer up a little image I have been working on. This image is made up of just some of the players that have been added to Capsuleer.

Appreciate you saying so. Seems a few people would be ok with a fee.
We can't actually charge real money for Capsuleer, as per CCP's agreements but once we start involving full api key data and some of the heavier lifting features, there will more than likely be a licensing structure in place that will charge isk for those features.
The program itself will always remain free.

Thanks for the very slick app. I recently noticed that you also download the blog entries to local storage so you don't have to be connected to a network to read them. As a software dev I really appreciate that level of thought being put in. And I've also sent a few ISKies your way when I first got it as thanks. :) -------------------------------------------------- Civil Disobedience is still Disobedience The most damage is done by those that know how and not why |

Originally by: Montague Zooma No matter what you want to do, "there's an app for that."
Not exactly. To date, there is still no iPhone app that will do what my Blackjack II used to do, i.e., record a voice note and then email the recording from my phone, as an attachment, to any arbitrary email address. That said, the huge benefits of the iPhone were enough to persuade me to give up my beloved Blackjack II and switch to the iPhone anyway. It was largely due to the application support, but there are so many other good reasons. It's a great phone. I don't like Apple's OS, computers or attitude, but I love their iPhone. ;-)
And on topic, Capsuleer is one of the coolest frikkin apps ever made on this phone. I use it to showcase the phone to my friends. Nice job, Roc, congratulations on a super product!

there is an app for changing your skills. I use vnc, remote into my home network, and login. Not playable for actual battle, but quite easy to change skills and mess with market orders. As for you Iphone haters, try not to be so transparent in your jealousy. I've never owned a mac, nor am I interested in one, but the iPhone blows away any smartphone I've used. The only fight worth fighting is the one you should lose. |

My 5800 works fine and its one of the early ones and i have no issues with my 3G connection as far as the phone goes its just the crappy area i live in, TBH you're only arguement for the iphone is support for loads of app's and at present thats all there is to it, the iphone is an ipod with a phone built in nothing more really, besides i like my multitasking 5800 ;) --------- Liberty Rogues Site[/center]

Thanks for a great app :D
Some feedback: - I'm not sure what data you can get using the API, but do you think we can see the skills we have in our traning queue at some point? - A toggle that would allow you to see the training times of skills you haven't yet injected. Switching the pilot to "All skills" doesn't show any times at all. - The "Pilot background" button could be removed. I doubt anyone ever uses it twice. - I love how fast the app loads. There was another eve app in the store, but that one took almost a minute to load up. Adding new features is always good, but I hope it wont slow down the app too much

When you are on the pilot details skill, click your currently training skill. If you have a Skill Queue ingame, you will be taken to the Skill Queue screen, exactly as you are requesting.
And yes, we are working on a better implementation for the All Skills toggle. It's actually a pain in the ass getting it to work like ingame so we put the All Skills pilot in to at least provide a means to see all the skills.

Capsuleer 2.0 runs on the 2.2.1 version of the iPhone OS. Version 1 didn't have that requirement.
If anyone else is experiencing this issue initially, make sure your iPhone software is up to date!

Here is a simple eve skill monitoring app for android. Doesn't have the functionality of the iphone app though which is a shame.
