Is there any reason why shield bonus on fleet bonuses cannot be applied the same way as armor?
Whenever you get armor bonus, it's immediately there as bonus hitpoints, but shield bonus is applied as damage (i.e. you get the bonus capacity to shield, but not the actual hitpoints)
I realise shield regens passively whereas armor does not, but this takes forever, so unless you have shield boosting in fleet (and lets face it, other than mission runners, who does?) chances are you're not going to be able to reap the full benefit of this bonus.

This is even worse since the extra 15% has to be regenerated at the extremely low nearly-full-HP rate, so unless you're sitting in one system for a long time with your gang bonuses active, you won't actually get the full HP bonus. ==========

I don't get it. Could someone explain me the issue with shield bonus plz? The skill Siege Warfare: "...Grants a 2% bonus to fleet members' shield capacity per skill level...". The skill Armored Warfare: "...Grants a 2% bonus to fleet members' armor hit points per skill level...". I see no difference here.
I have Armored Warfare at 5 and it works as I thought. Every member of the fleet has more armor HPs. So you say when I learn Siege Warfare my fleet members don't get a shield HP boost? Why? The skill description is quite clear imo. Is it a bug?
Thanks!

because of recharge. if armor came with that attribute, it'd have a dent aswell. same thing for onlining plates/extenders - putting the gist back into logistics |

Edited by: Typhado3 on 02/05/2009 03:16:01 it should be % based
if you had 100% shield before bonus u have 100% shield after bonus.

what they mean is when the bonuses start effecting you don't get that hp straight away your max capacity just changes. for example say you had 10,000/10,000 shield hp then leadership bonus hits and it goes up to 10,000/11,000. and that last 1,000 hp has to regenerate slowly over the next 5 min.

If u are shield tanked seems no problem to me even for passive tank (even when passive tanked shiel usually regenerates really fast) but if u need extra effective hitpoints it's a problem... ------------------------------------------------- I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. If you're shield tanked, you should be able to regen it fast enough. If you're armor tanked do you really care that much about the tiny bit of shield damage you now have?

This is not at all true. Shield buffer tanks (IOW, the only non-comedy shield tank in PvP) have few, if any, modules increasing regen rate, it's all about pure HP. So you're trying to regenerate that 15% at the lowest point on your regen curve, which means it takes a huge amount of time to get to 100%. Unless you're camping a single system and undocked constantly, you will not get the full bonus. ==========
