I need help: I'm having issues understanding the details of Combat Utility and Electronic Warfare Drones. As an example, by what % does a Berserker SW-900 web a target by? And what are the functional differences between the Acolyte TD-300, Hornet EC-300, and the Hobgoblin SD-300? Basically what is the difference between a tracking disruptor, a sensor dampener and ECM; I pretty well thought they where all pretty much the same.
If someone doesn't mind filling in the blanks I left below for the amounts that the different drone do their job I would greatly appreciate it. Also do the drone racial specializations change the amounts and is there really not a light or medium stasis webifier drone?
Combat Utility Drones Acolyte EV-300: 5 Energy Neutralized Infiltrator EV-600: 10 Energy Neutralized Praetor EV-900: 25 Energy Neutralized
Berserker SW-900: ?
Electronic Warfare
Tracking Disruptor Drones Acolyte TD-300: ? Infiltrator TD-600: ? Praetor TD-900: ?
Target Painter Drones Warrior TP-300: ? Valkyrie TP-600: ? Berserker TP-900: ?
Sensor Dampener Drones Hobgoblin SD-300: ? Hammerhead SD-600: ? Ogre SD-900: ?
ECM Drones Hornet EC-300: ? Vespa EC-600: ? Wasp EC-900: ?
Thank you to anyone who can help.

Right click on the drone and "show info".
Download EFT and put the drones in your drone bay (with your personaly skilled player selected) to see how your ship/skills will effect them.

I currently EFT and fitting Utility Drones to a ship will not alter any of my ships statistics outside of the drone bay and bandwidth used. I don't see the "Webified Amount" attribute while looking at the drone's attributes.

Its says "SPEEDx0.8" just above "OPTIMAL 10000".

1.8km/s is slow as hell? What fairy tale game are you playing? At that speed it can outpace any ship in the game, any ship in the game with an AB, and most ships with MWD. Or did you think 95% of the ships in the game really go 2km/s and faster?

Edited by: Commander Vic on 02/05/2009 21:56:11 The best use for the EW/Combat utility drones is to reprocess them and make more EC-600s (or sell them and buy more EC-600s), in which case with the right skills you can expect 100% effectiveness in this strategy. It's unfortunate but true.
Although if you plan on running missions sometimes having a mixed set of web & TP drones can free up a mid slot for extra tank. But in that case unless you have horrible drone skills (unlikely if you can use these in the first place) using combat drones will be more effective. Tracking disruptor drones almost work, web drones are very slow (theory-crafting and you might be able to web a target, turn them loose and then web a different target with your ship's web), damp drones are ineffective as the effect is too little, neut drones also seem generally ineffective in every case I've tried them out. Medium ECM drones work wonderfully, small ECM drones are too weak to be reliable and large ECM drones are probably not worth the loss of DPS. The only drones not completely destroyed by the stacking penalties are the neut and ECM drones.
I was hoping the 'Balance ECM Drones' issue in the game dev forum would have focused on this but it's been derailed into a 'nerf ECM more' thread so I won't be suprised if all of these fancy drones remain useless.
Anyway, sorry if that doesn't 'fill in the blanks' for you but maybe it will save you some ISK.

Math is not the issue bud anybody can do that, its about application.
All frigs, HAC's or recon's fitted to stay at range and speed tank can go 2k without much effort, and a HAC or recon looking to active or EHP tank will proly be working in web range anyway.
That leaves BC and BS.

Beserker is the webby drone...
300/600/900 is small/medium/heavy, with speed and hp differences between them... also if you get info you will see there effect on the target in the game. The bigger they are the more effect they have
ECM drones have jammer Strenght that is just like ecm bursts... read up on those calcs on the forum they produce the jamming effect making it impossible to lock target and to loose targets
sensor damps are worthless... they just lower lock speed and targeting range of the target
tracking disruptors... can lower in bound dps by slowing down turrets
Target painters, make a target sig radius bigger, increasing your ability to hit, and to some point DPS on turrets, sig radius also has alot of implications for the larger missiles.
Nuets - drain cap from the target... hard to say how well these work, they appear to have no effect in PvE, and I do not think the numbers are high enough to mkae a difference in PvP.

THANK You.
Does sound like the Sensor Damps and Tracking Disruptor drones are not that great. I will have to try the ECM drones out though.

Yes, but you cannot use them on your own ship. You can only use them on a ship that you have targeted.
