The MWD issue has been a big issue recently and many solutions have been suggested. Heres my idea: Since MWDs are already very volatile, look at description, it takes 25% cap and shield just to keep your ship from exploding. Why not just have a chance of your MWD exploding and destryoing your ship? Fitting multiple MWDs would increase this risk dramatically, having 2 MWD would mean there is a 50% chance of your ship exploding, 3 would be nearly impossible to use.
Now for single mwds the penalty would have to remain small to avoid nerfing ships like the Megathron and all frigs. In fact, there is really no need for the risk of disaster with 1 mwd. Well of course you are punished, the problem is that those penalties no longer matter with 2mwd because you can get in and out so fast. With 1mwd you still go slow enough that a interceptor can do its job, with 2 webbed you can still go fast enough to get away or at least get out of range of capital ships before you slow down. Well of course you are punished, the problem is that those penalties no longer matter with 2mwd because you can get in and out so fast. Hey, I have a better idea! How about anyone using the MWD loses all items on their ship since the MWD melts them for power. Additionally the MWD drains one million ISK for every second it is in operation, and turning it on gives a 15% chance of cancelling your Eve account. If you turn on the MWD on a Tuesday, a CCP assassination squad breaks into your home and kills everyone you love. Additionally, using the MWD is considered as entering into a legal pact with Beelzebub, Dark Prince of Locusts, whereupon your operation of the MWD is exchanged for your undying soul.
Yes! More punishments for MWD users! Find a way to give them skin cancer for even thinking of MWDs!

No, the idea is to give up trying to heap myriad punishments on users of this already beleaguered item. What, 500% sig radius times two isn't enough for you? Losing half your shield and cap isn't either? Do you have the remotest idea of the damage a battleship takes if it goes dual while under fire?

Well.. because nothing is wrong with multi-webs, they nerf themselves since the 2nd web only slows you based on the lower speed from the first. and you still "coast" to a stop so if you dual mwd you can escape a web easily. --------------- Your Mjolnir Torpedo strikes LORD ZAP doing 500000 Damage |

Well, what you don't seem to get (as you obviously only the topic title the first sentence and then go into an incoherent rant) is that even with all these so called "penalties" dual MWD ships are so fast that they can get away before you could even really damage it. At all. Ever. Even the fact that SOMETIMES a dual MWD ship gets caught and raped, isn't really a penalty. Usually it's the result of a noobish mistake on the part of the DMWD pilot. |

Whats the matter? Pirates dont like people getting away? MWD's were already messed up once because of pirates and their BS, so now you want it F'ed up AGAIN? I dont think so. You and your kind have already done enough damage to get your way. You just need to come up with ways to apprehend people quicker. Get a quicker ship. You use mobile warp things, that should be enough.
Its already easy to target someone moving really really fast, where as it should be twice as HARD to target per MWD, not twice as easy. The side trying to escape took a hit already. Unless you want piracy made a little harder in exchange, stop suggesting these ridiculous and stupid ideas of punishing those that want to get away and have nothing to do with you.
If something like MWD's blowing people up is implemented than I want a stop-mid-warp button that cancels warp immediately and lets the user coast to a stop in their own brand new safe spot. It will easily help the get away process, and perhaps balance the risk of one spontaneously combusting for no known reason. ---------------------------------- Stop screwing up whats currently in the game and add the new content that was promised months ago. IF CCP want's to nerf the dual MWD's then I expect a new ship class called Explorers that will be able to fir 2 MWD's..
This will do more bad then good...
SS will be imposible to find if ccp nerfs MWD's anymore :(

isnt that just a bit silly? you might as well say that using your full power grid on setups has a chance to cause an energy spike and take all your cap, shields and turn all your mods off... silly silly silly...
