[4] Obvious question, but the account you're using on the PC, it does have administrator rights doesn't it? What's the precise error message you're receiving? Another possibility is that somewhere along the way Windows has locked a temporary file, and the installer can't replace it when it tries to do what it's doing now. |

[7] Edited by: Jaldarr on 03/09/2004 00:41:00 Yep have admin rights. This happens on both my laptop and desktop computers. Both running Win Xp Pro, one Sp2 the ohter Sp1. here is the error.... NSIS Error The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete. This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus. You may want to contact the Author of this installer to obtain a new copy. It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch (NOT RECOMMENDED) ___________ and thats it I do not have any problems installing other applications. |

[22] I had this problem yesterday, and spent around 12 hours trying to get it fixed. Eventually I did get the game installed, but unfortunately cannot give precise instructions of what exactly fixed the problem Originally I downloaded the game on a Windows XP SP2 machine via HTTP, and got the same error as Jaldarr. Tried again on the same machine, but a different HTTP mirror and still the same. I then tried downlading via FTP using a Windows 2003 machine, and installed on the same XP SP2 machine across the network and everything worked fine. I don't know if this is what resolved the problem though, as the XP machine was a clean install with nothing apart from patches from Windows Update when I started, and by the time I had downloaded EVE installer for the 3rd time, I had installed a lot of other programs, and changed some of my network configurations. I suspect it was the changes to the network config that made the difference, as the previous week, I tried to install on another machine, and got the same error until I made an internet connection after which everything worked fine. Sorry I can't be of more help ---------------------------------- ----------------------- Honor and Serve! |
