Anyone got any ideas on a Legion fit for ratting/pvp sansha? in prov.
Lost 2 purifiers to rats in there 24 hours, kinda pointless to do it. Definatly need bubble immunity/cov ops. But damemd if I can figure out a decent fitting for pvp/tank |

The legion is not a very good choice for what you're looking at, for several reasons. 1) It has very poor EM/Therm resists. T2 Amarrian ships are better suited to tanking Angels than Sanhsas 2) Its covert ops subsystem is miserably poor. 10% capacitor reduction on 5 turrets does not make for a gangmobile.
If you've got Minmatar Cruiser 5, I'd suggest a Loki. Its armor resists are nice enough that you could do plexes if you so chose, and it can do nearly pure EM damage with EMP ammunition. |

Not a bad idea mate, thanks for that.. will do so. yer I ran into some faction spawns in there "mutant lords" an when I tackled em in my purifier they turned me into sushi |

Awesome. I wasn't sure if the loki would be a convenient option for you, but it seems like it is. You'll probably want to armor tank because of the significantly better EM/Therm resists that offers. Nevermind that the covops subsystem will actually give you a useful DPS bonus. |

yer was dicking about hunting ratters in my puri, but got bored looking. EVO lands are empty for some reason. So figured I'd head to prov an do some ratting. |

Thinking I might forgot the T3 an use a Curse instead... cheaper, an with its EM/heat resists will be fine on sansha. |

This.
I can fly both. For what you're thinking, a shield tanked (passive or active) loki, can achieve great resists and decent dps. An armor tank can achieve higher resists, but sacrifices a little dps for it. i've often looked into this myself, but find that the ammo selection for the loki, simply makes it a better ship for this purpose. Not to mention the other combo sub's, such as the immobility drivers with web range bonus :) gives you a chance of keeping a cynnabal off your back. |

Best I could do with the Loki, Cap stable outside of PVP and stable for 8 minutes in PVP. Dont fight frigates because your speed with AB will be slower then their speed under web. You should probably be able to force frigates off but try not to be tackled. If you need to escape a gatecamp you jump into I'm pretty sure that overheated AB + cloak will get you back to the gate ok.
If you want to be interdiction nullfied just use the same fit minus one gyro. It does 60 less DPS and about 300 less m/s so crappier tank and gank but will still probably see you through.
I went ahead with a fit that was theoretically capable of killing ratters but shouldn't be used for general pvp. I figured this would fit your needs on the pvp/pve balance. |

This is the best i could do with a passive shield tank. Its cloaky warpy and will do solid DPS w/ 5x 425s 2x Gyros and a web for tracking purposes. For staying alive it has that 100mn ab and a web so it should stand some chance of slipping away from hostiles. Passive tank isn't great, but at 1.2 klicks with no sig increase the rats shouldn't be applying full damge. And its cap stable. This should be good. |

If all you're doing is ratting, than purifier is actually the right choice. Kite at 40k shooting with an MSE and avoid spawns with elite frigate rats and you'll be fine. 'Mutant Lords' aren't faction spawns either, they're just one of the normal BS types.
On the other hand, if you want to do occasional pew, then the loki is most likely the way to go. Definitely don't fit purgers or CCC rigs though - you should have plenty of tank for killing a rat spawn, so take extenders for the pew and a cap booster if you're active tanked which you'll only need for those pee vee pee encounters. |

cheers lads, will try out all ideas on those loki. My puri has a downside mate mainly that its VERY hard to escape if you take your eyes off local for more n 5 seconds your screwed. Not only that, I lost a SB last week to a Mutant lord, he blew me to **** in bout 4 salvos.... I had not been in prov for over a year, I actually thought the mutants were faction..... Only reason I went after it..
I think in long run the loki is the safer bet, specially if I get jumped by a random prowler an lets face it, no matter how careful you are IS going to happen eventually. |
