This a lottery for a Tempest Tribal Issue battleship (info).
There is only 4 of these ships in-game and it is valued to over 80 billion ISK.
This is the same ship that the previous winner Traffic won, since then it has been scratched a bit but will get washed before delivery.
Basic lottery information
You will be purchasing tickets for 10 million ISK each, no limit to the amount of tickets. There are 10,000 tickets, in total returning 100 billion ISK, but I may chose to close the ticket sales at an earlier point if I see the interest decreasing and thus speeding up the end of the lottery and faster annoucing of a winner.
Prize: Tempest Tribal Issue
Number of tickets in total: 10,000 at the most, depending on interest (lottery will be closed when reaching 10,000)
Lottery ends on Wed, May 20th, 18:00 or when 10,000 tickets has been sold.
How will a winner be picked and how can we verify the winning number?
As there will be 10,000 tickets in total I've chosen to simply put all the pilots into a database, and upon picking winner simply running a select statement ("select pilot from tickets order by newid()" - MSSQL), and the name that comes up is the winner.
While you cannot verify this via external sites and/or media it simply comes down to trust.
Cool, so how do I get tickets?
Buying tickets is simple, each ticket cost 10 million ISK and you can buy as many as you would like. Simply send the amount of ISK for your wanted number of tickets to me - Chribba (ensure that you type it correctly) AND - and this is important! - Add the message TRIBAL in the reason line of the ISK dialog, the message will enable me to track your ticket and insert it into the drawing database properly.
ISK that is sent NOT having the TRIBAL message will be seen as a donation to me and will NOT be a part of the lottery. You do not need to send me an EVEmail with the message, only type it with the ISK.
Check your tickets here: Linkage
Examples:
If you want to buy one ticket, send 10,000,000 ISK to Chribba with the reason TRIBAL
If you want to buy two tickets, send 20,000,000 ISK to Chribba with the reason TRIBAL
If you want to buy fifty tickets, send 500,000,000 ISK to Chribba with the reason TRIBAL
Of course you can send 10 million now and 20 million later, that won't make any difference, in total you will still have bought 3 tickets. So you can either send per ticket or in one sum, as long as they wear the correct message, the number of tickets will be correct.
Tickets will only be counted in the steps of 10, for example sending 12 million ISK will still only be counted as one ticket, and 2 million ISK will be treated as a donation. Sending 9,999,999.99 ISK will give you ZERO tickets as it will be rounded down.
IMPORTANT! READ THIS TWICE!
Tickets cost 10 million each.
ISK needs to be sent to Chribba with the reason TRIBAL - in ISK dialog, not EVEmail.
A confirmation is available here, so you can see how many tickets you have purchased and that your name is in the database. The data is imported on regular intervals via the API so it may take a few hours for it to show up.

There IS a way to conduct random number lotteries without trust. You could do what the Mafia does ("running numbers"). You choose some publicly displayed information from several different sources and add/subtract/whatever the numbers together. That gives you the winning number. For example: winning number= highest NBA game score today + highest MLB score + highest hockey score. Or the FTSE average + DOW average - Nissei average. Or whatever. It doesn't matter what the data is, just that it have a numeric component, its publicly reported regularly by an impossible to influence source, and there is no way to know what it is in advance (thus sports scores and financial index averages are good starting places). |

NewID() may not be the end of all wisdom, as its GUIDs are more designed towards uniqueness than randomness and even coverage of the value range, but I haven't come up with something better yet, so I accept Chribba's solution :D

actually I was used as bait for that carrier to go agro on me outside st, the setup I was using can tank up to 2 carriers (with max skills)
I was not remote repped at any point in time in that gank.
carrier died too fast for that to be needed.

It's pulled directly from his wallet via the API. Sometimes this bugs and it takes a while for C to sort it out, as long as you sent the ISK and used 'TRIBAL' in the reason, you will be fine

In your case you are paying with the corporation wallet, so your tickets will be listed under your corporation name instead of your name. I still see your name manually but the import grabs the "sender" name which in the case of corporation payments is the corporation name.

I encountered an error on the last import that gave some pilots about 33,000 tickets lol due to a calculation error since they used "cents" so in order to fix all that I wiped the ticket entries and reimported it all again.
So I ask everyone that has purchased tickets earlier than 14:00 today to reverify their tickets and send me a mail if they don't show up and I'll manually verify them (note that this does only apply to people who failed to send the TRIBAL reason with their payment, everyone who typed it correctly will have no problem).
My apologies for any trouble this causes you and I'm happy to say that we've passed the 50% mark and keep spreading the word and we'll be able ot draw a winner quicker.

yup, just look at the amount of pages in the thread multiply by 1000 and thats about the amount of tickets sold, atleast usually in chribbas lotterys. So when we reach about 7 pages we will have the draw regardless if it gets sold out or not, and when we get to 9 pages the tickets will be sold out

I'm sure Chribba will confirm this, but he pulls ticket purchases from the API. Since there was an update, the API will be down for 24-48 hours, which means you won't see your tickets purchased for that time period.

As posted the API was down due to the recent patch (like CCP always do - disable it). It has now updated and there's still tickets left.
The import was since then set to manual, hence the delay. And as I am not near a computer 23/7 like I usually am atm due to some RL things the updates will come in a bit non-symetric(or how to say it). I will closely monitor the tickets and close it in time.
