Names? I've got naming conventions.
Frigates get named after Colorado "fourteeners," such as Longs Peak, Quandary, and Sunlight.
Destroyers are World War II generals and admirals, such as Rommel, Yamamoto, Montgomery, and Mannerheim.
Cruisers are Earth rivers, such as Rio Grande, Orinoco, and Cimarron.
Battlecruisers are geographic features of Mars, such as Mons Olympus, Syria Planum, and Cydonia Mensae.
Haulers have "Brick" in their names somewhere, such as Heavy Brick, Gold Brick, and Yellow Brick Road.
Mining ships are San Diego County gemstone mines, such as Stewart Lithia and Pala Chief (Retrievers), Tourmaline Queen (Mackinaw), and Tourmaline King (Hulk).
Those are the major classes of ships I have thusfar. Of course, my Orca is the Janne Wirman and my Obelisk is the Tuomas Holopainen, and, as capital ships, they have a "Rho Alpha Delta" prefix on their names.
And I have a few oddies, like the Dramiel named Firefox. ("You must think in Russian...")

I named my new Legion "The Advantageous"
All of my Caldari ships are named after Presidents, and all of my Amarr ships are named after male protagonists in the Bible.

most of my ship anmes are either nicked from The Culture or are random bits of russian copy/pasted out of local.
at any given time i almost certainly have a ship called "ry ry dishonors the mother-country with his homosexuality" or something in ruskie.

I had a Hyperion called Sweet Reason and a Myrmidon called Patience, as in "I solve all my problems with the application of patience and reason".
Then the sleepers blew up my myrm, so I lost my patience.
Apart from that:
Dominix: Physeter (because it looks like a sp*rm whale)
Itty V: Long Haul (becasue it is long, and a hauler, and you can use it for long hauls)
