For those who saw that dev-blog CCP said how they became more closer to the network main data peers.... and guess what. ITS TRUE!
Here its a copy paste of my traceroute of my Mac to their IP address. I recomend to use this page to check every IP it marks.
Preatty cool.
Traceroute has started ...
traceroute to 87.237.38.200 (87.237.38.200), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets
(SORRY!, I am not gonna show u my ip. Ddos attacks are not cool)
3 200.75.200.161 (200.75.200.161) 39.539 ms 13.518 ms 11.772 ms 4 core-00-pty.cableonda.net (200.75.200.120) 16.113 ms 12.227 ms 12.107 ms 5 ge-0-1-0.ar1.pty1.gblx.net (64.209.103.25) 19.284 ms 22.020 ms 154.314 ms 6 te2-1-10g.ar6.lon3.gblx.net (67.16.130.38) 248.814 ms 198.455 ms 188.622 ms 7 204.245.39.42 (204.245.39.42) 186.667 ms 146.057 ms 177.329 ms 8 87.237.36.26 (87.237.36.26) 172.906 ms 156.272 ms 144.195 ms
AND BTW: Preatty freaking bad speed of my connection. According to this trace route, my provider connect to California to later go to phoenix, to later go to iceland...
WHY IT COULD NOT USE A NEW YORK CONNECTION!!!! (U will understand that when u check the internet fiber-optics map)

I dont know if this means anything but CCP uses LimeLight Networks as thier Content Delivery Network Provider. LimeLight is based in Phoenix.
If you'll notice, sometimes when you load certain pages, download some stuff, you'll see something.LLNW.something. Removes the "somethings" for whatever it really reads, but that means that Limelight is delivering that content to your PC.

looks like its the IP of the hop (3rd line) 2nd line is a private ip range, as is the first. Doesent matter who see's that because they would be used anywhere.

God you guys are worried about publishing your ip... do you think people are looking for ip numbers to attack on random?
What you should worry about are what services you have running on your computers.

I wouldnt really considering posting on some bulletin board as "using" the internet. its akin to saying playing Zork is the as playing Eve-Online.

You can find out what ISP people use and you can find out on which subnet they are, but without knowing which subnet maps to what physical area, you dont get any further than that. You would need help from a ISP to map ip to building, or have access to their network maps.

People go around blabbing all sorts of stuff. Without backup up your statements with facts, they are useless.
Lets say I type "I work for the president, it cant be done". Believe me now?

Generally when someone makes a statement that contradicts logic, they need to back it up for people to believe it.
Its not about my ego, its about yours. You made a statement and you cannot back it up so now you are trying to get out of the situation your ego put you in.

I dont need to back up anything. I know what I said is true. its not my job to educate you, if you want to learn about TCP/IP and networking in general, pick up a book.
Dont believe me, I dont really care. Im not about to get into a technical argument with some dude on the internet.

Im in that field already. Without access to network maps, you cant map an ip to a building.
You can get that information in a number of ways of course, so it can be done. Im just saying it cant be done without access to that information. Hopefully you are not stating the opposite.

You're probably wrong. Why say you work for an isp to back up your statement when you don't care if people believe you?
And why reply so many times if you really don't care?

Next time, actually read the devblog.
CCP can shape traffic from TQ to your house. CCP can not do anything to shape traffic from your house to TQ. When you do a trace, it traces from your house to TQ. On this route, you're at the mercy of your ISP and their Tier 1/2's. Call them and tell them to get better ones for connecting to London.
Edit: about the privacy thingy: Any of you on Facebook, MySpace, etc? Makes posting your IP fairly irrelevant.

Why bother to lay seperate lines? Where i work i use the same cables for 100 computers and 100 phones. rx and tx +- for 10/100 ethernet as thats all you need. and the blue one for phone. All patched properly and you dont need 200 cables, you need 100. So i understand that.
But is the brown one aswell used when you run gb network via rj45?
