Since the apocrypha upgrade I have been getting serious lag when doing just about anything in game. It only happens when the concurrent user limit is about 30,000 plus (17:00 onwards GMT). I usually use two clients and have tried just using one but no joy. The chat window displays messages as normal but all other windows can take anything between 5 - 10 seconds to even display the contents. Dragging, dropping, stacking and locking/unlocking items can take at least ten seconds, even for just a few items. Tried all the usual, reducing graphics quality etc... My initial thought was a connection problem at my end but I have been using the same internet connection for at least a year and never had any trouble before. I have used connection speed checkers to ensure there is nothing wrong. I also have another computer running from the same connection and checked all of the above on that. I have tweaked just about everything I can think of. I am also getting this lag when undocked aswell but it seems to come in 'waves'. I can be on a mission and everything is fine then all of a sudden the enemies HP will stop draining even though my missiles are still launching. Then after about 30 seconds things 'unfreeze' and the enemy has been destroyed... leaving my ship stood still doing nothing. Lost a drake and about 50mils worth of equipment the other day Getting pretty desperate now. Any advice would be appreciated before I go spending money on trying another ISP Thanks

Can you provide some more information, such as which system you are in when you are seeing the lag? What other programs do you have running on your system at the time, etc...

EVE peak time might also be peak time for your ISP in your area. High usage in your area might decrease your connection stability to EVE due to the load on your ISP's network. Given the timeframe you provided, I think it's around peak time.
try comparing the ping time from the EVE server during and outside of peak hours. If those differe a lot, it's the load on your ISP's (or even local) network. _

Edited by: Commissar Veldt on 13/05/2009 09:50:01 No nowhere near Jita. Based in Ikao. I also shut down any unnecassary processes and applications in task manager before I even open Eve. I will try comparing the ping and see if I get any result. Ta
