Well almost no one Honors a 1 vs 1 fight these days. Thy always have a Remote Repair gang on stand by and you never get a 1 vs 1 in the end. So i propose new mechanic that allows us to get a fair 1 vs 1 Fight. After all PVP stands for Player Vs Player and not Player Vs PlayerS. I want assurance that if i engage in a fight it will be only 1 vs 1 and no me vs many. And i think this is a fail suggestion. |

I want never gets! But seriously, You will never get 1 v 1 pvp when so many ppl want to get onto the kill mail. If ccp brought in a pure 1 v1 only feature, then we would just have hundreds of ppl whining about how unfair this new feature is.

Dont you guys think this will bring FUN back to the SOLO player? How many 1 man corporations are aout there. How many players that dont like the politics of being part of a large corp or alliance. We still want to have fun in the for of PVP but aint getting it cause there is no Implemented System that ensures us a fair 1 vs 1 fight. I think many people would like this and it will make game FUN and PVP accessible for the SOLO player. And if wanting to have fun in PVP all by my self is wrong then whats the point of playing Eve if u cant do it SOLO. I dont like depending on others to success. |

Your suggestion would be heavily exploited and is against eve's principle that everyone can shoot anyone anywhere and anytime.

Ive had solo pvp recently in low sec, its out there if you look for it. Ok, the other guy didnt want pvp but hey, this is eve  If you see someone and you think you might get pvp, just warp to a planet, if they follow, then game on.

I strongly believe that a 1 vs 1 PVP system will make Game More FUN. Eve is a social game basicaly YOU cant do everything all by your self. And maybe just maybe if we had the chance to do this SOLO it would make EVE more interesting for new comers. |

As always with these kind of "ideas" its because the OP is to lazy to go out and find a fight. He wants to log in, push a button and have a "fair fight".
If you want a 1v1 go to nearest lowsec with a pirate and ask him for a 1v1 or sit on a planet until he jumps you.
Most of these guys will honor the 1v1.
OR
Fit your balls, go roam in lowsec and engage a random person that you think you can take on. |

I do roam LOW sec a lot but i always find my self Outnumbered. So whats the point on roaming low sec or null if people dont fight alone. I have even try to fit ships to hold agro from 2 or 3 people just to get my self enought time to get a kill before I pop. My point is that in Eve PVP donst work for the Solo Guy if you want to be succesfullin PVP in eve u need Numbers. And thats not a FAIR for everyone. |

Try roaming in other pockets.
Try to find systems with a couple of players only. Systems with 20+ people you-Śll get blobed for sure.
If you are doing something and it doesnt work as you intended, change the way you do it instead of asking the game to change to suit you :) |

1v1 only with ppl in player corps that don't look like a front, or even better a corp that advertises that they honor them

if they drop fleet its a trap, gtfo set them red and move on. If the corp they belong to has a 1v1 policy, get political. I 1v1 ALL OF THE F*CKING TIME and almost never get it dishonored by using this method backed with common sense.
If you don't like it, you should go and ride your Emo high-horse all the way back to WoW.

You know those countless movies where the bad guy wants to meet the good guy "alone" to exchange: the money, the hostage, etc etc?
You know how in those western movies there was always some jackass with a rifle watching from above?
That's what makes good guys and bad guys.
Do you see two ruthless fighter pilot/pirates agreeing to a true 1v1?
If they are good guys you are dueling, then you don't have to worry about it do you?
If they are bad guys, they why are you upset they are allowed to be bad guys?
I'm a duelist by nature in online games. I love 1v1. That being said, what makes eve amazing (been playing a week or so now) is that for once the realism of helping a friend or stabbing someone in the back is there to be had.
"Oh a nice honor duel...but I don't like person A...time to mess that up for them"
You can stop me too, there's no magic system that makes my sneaky ass invulnerable to it. Bring in your own 3-4 friends with stealth to hide and wait...if you're inclined to honor the duel, do so. If someone pops up to help, make them regret it.
That's your dueling system.
With the system you propose people would just 1v1 each other and make themselves invulnerable to others and use it as a griefing tool.

The mechanic you have purposed as it is can't be implemented. There are too many ways to exploit it. Also like other people have said already, 1v1 PVP is alive in eve. It's up to you to go find it. I 1v1 all the time.

I'm sure if there was some system like this in place that people would find a way to abuse it. The fact remains that EVE is not Unreal Tournament. Anything that could happen in space realistically should be able to happen in game, and anything completely unrealistic such as a cage match that no outside force can influence should ever exist.
For example, is there any sort of reality where it was 100% impossible for two guys wanting to fight IRL couldn't be interrupted or unfairly assisted? No. If I wanted to and had enough manpower to do it, I could crash a De la Hoya fight in Vegas and screw up the fight. Is it likely? Of course not. I'd get my face kicked in by fans and the police, but it's not in the realm of the impossible. What you are asking for is. EVE is a living-in-space simulator, not an arena game that allows for such impossibilities.
If you want to ensure a fair match, have your own buddies on standby to do some curb stomping if anyone other than the parties agreeing to the 1v1 get involved. Get your own logi, ECM, BS's and whatever on standby. At the first sign of shennanigans have them come in and serve justice. Just make sure they are in your corp and both "fighters" have taken from eachother's cans if you're doing it in highsec. Don't fire a single shot until they do.
Post with your main or GTFO!

It's a big part of what EVE is that the assurances you have are all player interaction.
It makes it much more meaningful* that people do not dishonour if they have the option of doing so.
Then it's truly reputation and not handholding.
* SoTF kick people for breaking their word where 1vs1's are concerned. This is what we pay for our reputation. This means more than having a duel enforced. |

In this game there should be a way to demostrate who is the better pilot, but the truth is that it dosnt exist. Success in Eve Online is measured by how many friends you have by your side rather than how good a pilot you are. I just would like to see a way for single pilot to be measured against another pilot in a fair way, but to be honest i dont see it happening. All i can see is people afraid of the idea that 1 pilot can demostrate that he is better than You under same circunstances. |
